I hoped that I would never have to write this but..... today my 2020 has developed the most appalling stutters. To a point where it is like a slide show. I have never had this before in 2020 not even in the early days. I haven't changed anything on my rig or my settings. I really hope its just a temporary issue with my broadband internet but I would be interested to learn if anyone else is suffering the same.
 
Likely the sim is looking for duplicate or missing textures.
It may be a WIN11 issue.
I had it with Burningblue sceneries and just rebuilt the community folder bit by bit.
Amazing how snappy the sim is with a vanilla install...
 
I sometimes see stutters on approach, but my guess is that it's trying to load in scenery as I descend.
 
Did you load new mods before the problem occurred? If so, take them out of the community file again and try if the sim runs smooth after doing so .
 
If you have Add On Manager, the first thing to do would be switch off all your add-ons, then clear caches, update drivers etc. The usual steps to take.

I use add-on linker so I am constantly changing which add-ons I select for each flight. I guess I will have to go through everything and work out which one is the culprit...

Yep seems that way - but an easier process than "de-mantling" the Community folder.

Yes indeed with the default sim there are no issues
 
Having consulted my AI partner Claude it seems as though my updating my Nvidia drivers as and when upgrades are released may be my problem. My current Nvida driver is 610.88, Apparently there's an active thread on the official MSFS forums specifically about it: multiple people are reporting "micro-freezes" in MSFS with 610.88, which lines up closely with my issue. So I am going to roll back a few drivers and see if that cures my stutters.
