SU-33 Flanker finally up to speed in FSX...

Warrant

Videre Vincere Est
Finally i achieved to import the excellent AlphaSim SU-33 to FSX!

(that means; Yes, it is a port-over. Just to have that out of the way :bump:).

I recently purchased the Abacus International Fighters package and used the included SU-33 air.cfg file to finally adjust the missing link that kept my FS9 purchase AS SU-33 from working properly in FSX.

The FS9 AS SU-33 kept failing me with the throttle behavior, it was either full AB or idle power. With the payware add-on air.cfg file she is flying like sunshine! :ernae::jump:

Here are some images of the bird (with an excellent DVC b.t.w....):

Please find the rest of the images @ http://s659.photobucket.com/albums/uu319/Warrant_2009/Flanker/?start=all

FYI: The AlphaSim Flanker series are no longer available.
If someone (owning this payware for FS9) is interested how to convert these to FSX, just PM me.
The Air Force Flanker's can be converted but will have a minor DVC issue (HUD). The Naval Flankers however, will convert just fine (as shown in the attachments and at my photobucket folder). :engel016:

i have been looking for the flanker family for freakin ever does anyone know where i can still get it i will pay for it if needed but does anyone know where i can still get it?

And because not be more for sale, you cant upload?

This your SU-33 with VC is beauty to much!
I need good one SU-33 like this

I still have the Alpha Naval Flanker somewhere and it's one of those models that I really liked, but never got to fly as much as I'd have liked, in FS9.

It would be very nice to see some FSX native MiGs and Sukhois, but in the meantime, that looks like a pretty good compromise.

I'm afraid i cannot upload. Though the SU-33 is no longer for sale, it still is up to the original author (intellectual ownership) to release it as freeware. The other limitation is the air.cfg file. That one originates from a payware package for FSX. All i can do is write a manual how to convert the airplane (you must have purchased it and own it).:kilroy:

I will test the bird with a freeware air.cfg from a similar bird (There are some nice Flanker's available @ flightsim.com, as freeware).
If one is sufficient for use with the AS model i will either ask the originator of the airfile if i can uopload, or write a manual how to adjust/modify it (you have to d/l and adjust the file yourself then :mixedsmi:)

:wavey:

AHA comon excellent news!!! I could kiss you my dutch friend, i'm sick of no russian jets in fsx same as me with that throttle problem!!
P.S.take a look because i know you likeSheik" or at least get to watch him practice you lucky sod!! " heres me with his new bird the F16 AM demo 09.......Thanks alot for the fix!:ernae: really happy here especially finding this after a couple of beers, when you have both of em on ya hard-drive! :icon29:

Just love this paint job!

I also would love to see more russian hardware. Thet are simply incredible jets.. I've been working on the su-33 for several months now with the owners permission, turning it into a fly alike su-35 for use by the VUSN, but the physics sukhoi used for the plane is called dynamic instability which you normally see in weather fronts.. Between the canards on the front to the planes ability to rotate and flip in mid air, it's been an extreme learning experience..

The SU-37 (S-47) above is a good plane, but the problems with any of these aircraft ( SU-30, SU-35 (ex SU-37)) lies in the difficulty of creating an fde that can simulate 3D vectored thrust. 2D is a little easier, but when you toss in canards as well, it gets dicey.. FSX like al of it's predessessors seems to be designed arount the standard airframe of two wings a tail and an engine, using very standard physics for flight. These new fourth gen aircraft toss those physics half way out the window and go into some really bizaarr places.. Whats needed here is a genius who can program around fsx's limitations by using some type of systems programming or even a three part fde, to function as all those extra systems. I've gotten pretty decent at fde's, but i'm not the genius that can figure that one out.. until that person comes along though, or i get excrutiatingly lucky on this su-33 and figure it all out, we're gonna have fourth gen looking aircraft, with 3rd gen capabilities..

No, i'm afraid it's not. The original author is no longer associated with alphasim, and although it may be possible in the future to purchase it from the authors web site, it want there the last i checked..

Hi all,

I received numerous requests regarding a manual how to port over the SU-33.
I'm already working on that, and will be finished soon. However, this coming week I'm very busy (Volkel airbase RNLAF Open Days). ETA on the manual is mid next week.

Blazefox 2, i don't think it is offered for purchase anymore at this time. Perhaps if you contact the author (no longer associated with AlphaSim as vendor) you can work something out.

The Terminator came with the SU-27 package and the second skin is one done Yago9 sometime back.

Just realised the one you are using is the later navy version, which does have the better canopy.
