Super Cub: another version...

SOH-CM-2025
Just an update, to show the "Classic Bushplane" configuration, as it stands now. This is a different model than Tom's (which you can see the sig below). Thought I'd show some screenshots, as it now has some colours. As ever, a work-in-progress... and I'll try and have a VC shot soon. :)

These screenshots are now up on the website, too.

Slowly getting there! :)

Mike

I've said this before, but it just must be repeated: Awesome! LOVE those fat tundra tires:applause::applause::applause::applause: A classic in the making.:medals:

Don't forget to knock another 10 knots off for the big tires..... Have the real one on floats right now and did some great flying into some glacially trapped lakes near Denali. About the same speed on floats as with the 26" tires.

Nice work mike!!

Don't everyone shout at me please...

Mike, please, pretty please give this model "user paintable" specular textures. There are more than a few modern Super Cubs with "trick" paint jobs. Check Sprouts Ad and Albertsons Ad. Especially the Cub Crafters models have been given the odd metallic textures.

Definitely a "Looker" and certainly one to use as a glider towplane if you give us the ones with the power.

Thanks for sharing.

Yes, don't worry, full spec maps are there. :)

As for power, the most so far is 160hp (there are 95hp, 150hp and 160hp variants), although I may try and squeeze a 180hp in there, too.

Sold!

I have been towed RW by a Super Cub and was up quickly. In the sim, we can change towplanes with "Aerotow" and enjoyed the changes. Cherokees, Maules, Bushhawks, Beavers...

...and now the Super Cub.

Here's what 35 inch tires look like on a Super Cub - presently the largest tires you can use, I believe. For when you absolutely, positively have to land on the roughest site you can find....:)

This is an actual configuration of a real Cub I was able to find, plus it's paint scheme. :mixedsmi:

Bushwheels also makes a larger soft inflation tailwheel, much wider than the standard issue. I am not sure mike has it on there, but my cub does have the Sweitzer Tow hitch.

A lot of inertia in the Bushwheels, a definite nose down moment on touchdown on firm surfaces such as pavement. Gas pumps tend to be near pavement... grass is always more satisfying.

Enjoying flying on floats this Summer, a low pressure way to get into many more remote areas.

Cheers: tom

Beautiful shots. Jealous - me? :icon_lol:

And thanks, that reminds me, I have to put the handle on the tail of the float version....
