Mike,

I am trying to customize my panel in the Extreme 1. FS Panel Studio is not letting me load the panel/gauges. Are they part of the "model"...or...is there a way around this...Can I load it into FS Panel somehow someway...

I'm repainting a custom panel, and want to move my gauges a little..and also add some...I usually do this with all my aircraft, but this one is not letting me...Its much easier to use FS Panel Studio to move them usually...

Any help or tips or a way around this would be greatly appreciaited.

BTW, this is my fav A/C....:applause:

Aloha,
Sean

Hi Sean,

Glad you like the Super Cubs. :)

The only gauges FSPS can deal with are 2D ones, and except for the digital readouts of the EGT gauge (for example), all gauges are 3D and hence a part of the model. They can't be moved.

The IFR Amphib model has 3D gauges in the avionics bay that can be hidden, with a large 2D gauge texture underneath so that new gauges can be added with applications like FSPS, but that's the only one.

Is it better then FSaddon?
And why?

Soorry. Don't speak english good...

Hi Merkava,

You should probably have a close look at the websites where the Super Cubs are offered (see below, here, for Flight Replicas website), and compare screenshots and available features. After that, if you read through threads like this one and the ones for FSAddon's Cub here http://forums.fsaddon.eu/viewforum.php?f=35 , I think you should manage to get a pretty good idea about the Super Cub packages and will be able to make the choice that most suits your needs.

Hi Mike,

I'm trying to locate two areas in the Extreme paintkit, the oil cooler cover and the wing vortex generators as directed by the yellow arrows. Can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob,

The intake cover is as in the picture here (orange circle), on SC_1.

The vortex generators are not textured on the Extreme, as they come out of the box white and are usually aftermarket products on aircraft as old as the Extreme, and applied without recovering (and thus repainting) the wing.

For the most part they are textured only on those aircraft which are newer and purpose-built.

Thanks Mike. Guess my picture didn't come through (at least I can't see it on this computer) but you knew what I meant anyway. I'm also not sure where the inside texture is for the step that goes across the right landing gear struts, but I haven't done an in depth look for it yet either. I seem to have managed to get the outward facing area colored.

The VG's are in real life glued on to the wing upper leading edge. I think the "kit" which includes a template, is about 1500 bux. The main reason I have not installed them on my cub is it makes removal and installation of wing covers a pain. Bad enough as it is! Probably not useful for most of the ski and float flying I do. I have not as yet talked to an authorative source as to whether or not they will prevent the flip over the top moose turn stall, which has had fatal consequenses for a number of folks.

Want to buy, but which one?

Hi folks - This is my first post here and I'd appreciate some info concerning which package to buy.

I currently have the A2A Cub which I like but now want to add a similar quality Super Cub with faster speeds, flaps etc. I can't afford to get the complete package so please help me decide which lesser package will be best.

I'm leaning toward the Standard package as it has all of the aircraft types I'd be interested in. My main question then concerns how important the bush packages would be. I fly only in Australia with Orbx's FTX and will eventually fly in the Pacific Northwest (USA) when they release that package. So far in Australia I'm perfectly satisfied with flying standard aircraft (Cub, Maule etc) rather than bush specific planes.

The FR Super Cub looks great and what I've heard from others sounds good as well. Now my next step is to decide which package to get and then it's off to the FR's site for purchase.

Thanks in advance for your help. Howard

I have 'only' the standard package and I'm not missing anything. As long as one doesn't put gaint wheels etc.. onto the plane it's as elegant as the designer wanted it to be ;)
Furthermore with the included L-21 you have a great almost 360deg view from the cockpit......

Thanks for the quick response! That's about what I'm thinking as well but I'm also interested in using the plane in bush type flying. Oh well, we'll see. Howard
