[FONT=verdana, sans-serif]File Description:
Supersky 2010 adds texture to produce a realistic picture of spectacular quality of the sky, especially sunrise and sunset. Click on number 1 image. This is a real sunset (no FS2004, this is a true photo). Now click on the next images. This is SuperSky 2010! With supersky 2010 and fs2004 you too can now experience this natural atmosphere of the "real" sky. For the best flying experience with SuperSky 2010 I recommend first installing the wonderful addon HDE2 BY PABLO DIAZ (great Pablo!).

Yes, I was curious so downloaded them tonight and tried them out. I had been using the sky colors from Pablo Diaz' High Definiton Environment 2 (HDE2). Well, according to the readme for SuperSky, these textures are inspired by Pablo's HDE and in fact contain some of the textures from HDE. I assume by permission since he thanks Pablo in the readme....

Anywho, my first impression is quite favorable. These textures lend a little bit deeper blue to the sky than I was getting from HDE2, more of a peach/orange/purple at duskand a bit pinker morning sky at dawn.

Overall I am quite impressed, and I think I am going to stay with these sky colors over the HDE ones.

Pablo's sky textures have been converted to FSX so I could test them. The colors are nice but sometimes it lacks a little bit of colors, especially for sunsets for example. The colors in the screenshots above are more impressive, in my opinion.

In FS9, the best experience I ever had with the sky was thanks to the freeware FS Skyworld 2004, which I consider as the freeware ancestor to REX. It has a nice graphic interface that lets you choose between several sky colors for day, dusk or dawn, and you install the textures with a single click.

I miss this tool a lot in FSX, where only the clouds work (sky textures are incompatible) :/
