Switched drives, no joy

I had everything on my SSD hard drive. It was running out of room so I moved the main ETO, MAW, PTO folders (only the main folders) over to my HDD drive. I opened up each by double clicking on the CFS3.exe icon and they loaded up OK. Once. Made shortcuts for each CFS.exe for the desktop. Now none will load whether I double click the desktop shortcut or the file in the main folder. Splash screen comes up, then closes.
Sure would appreciate some advice on this one.

Thanks, tried the ShowUIWorld switch and it didn't work.
I moved ETO and MAW back to the SSD drive and they run OK.
There's just some disconnect when they're on the HDD.

I'm thinking that it is a "read write" speed issue between the hdd and ssd.
My two hdd's experienced crashes when interfacing with my new ssd and win10, which were working perfectly for years with win7.

I was probably mistakenly assuming that you ran the programs from a backup hdd and that the icons were on the main ssd desktop.

I need to take my Dried frog tablets now.:dizzy:

Not so fast there, rince33. You may have been on the right track.
I tried running the programs from both the CFS3.exe file inside the program folder (on HDD) and from shortcuts I made and transferred to my desktop.
There may be a problem with the interface as only the main game folders are on the HDD and the folder containing the uisel.xml, UnlimitedPilots.xml, etc. are still back in the AppData/Roaming/Microsoft folder on the SSD. I don't know what else may be back on the SSD, but that folder is only one I am aware of.
When I double click on the CFS3.exe file I imagine it must be referencing (or looking for) those files.

I tried moving this folder over to the HDD but it didn't work.
Do you think the CFS3.exe is specifically looking for the AppData/Roaming/Microsoft folder on the HDD?

I have moved copies to several different hard drives on my system. The key has always been to run Multicfs3.exe before you try to run cfs3config.exe and cfs3.exe. This creates all the needed entries for the AppData/Roaming/Microsoft folder on your C drive. Make sure you give the copy in the new location a unique name or your system will get very confused about where things are.

I moved my cfs3 stock and bob installs across to my new ssd without installing either of them. I just double checked my control panel Programs and registry to make sure. Both are located in a Games folder and not in the standard Program files location. This is the case for my hdd and new ssd. I know that some old games need to be located outside of the Program files locations on newer systems.

I also copied my hdd app data folders to my ssd appData /roaming/ Microsoft folder. I remember there being an issue with the Bob folder name. I also notice that my bob install has compatibility settings for xp service pack3 , but not my stock install.

Both installs are currently working ok.
