The Total energy vario should work with everything, including CumulusX and even Slew Mode but there's confirmed problem with standard variometer and CumulusX, I think empeck will soon fix it.


About the winch and vario not working, do you run FSX as administrators? Maybe try to download and install this file: http://www.microsoft.com/DOWNLOADS/...34-3e03-4391-8a4d-074b9f2bc1bf&displaylang=en (shouldn't be needed, but just in case)

Beautiful model empack, just installed it and will take it up for a bit flight later.

A little tip for this and other Gliders, if you have a registered copy of FSUIPC you can map the airbrakes/spoilers to an axis, that way there variable instead of just on/off.

Both my winch and second vario are non-functional too, I wonder if there is a connection?
Not sure about installing as an administrator as I use XP pro.

Is there more than one version of the DL, I got mine from Mike, direct, but is the SOH one different in any way to the one here?

Yes, there is a connection, both winch and vario are programmed in the same dll.

I re-installed the MS C++ programme as suggested and re-installed the pirat, but still do not have a winch or multi-variometer. I even tried moving the .dll file to the gauges folder, but no luck.
I wonder what the connection is between those of that cannot get it to work and those that can. I run Windows XP pro and FSX Acceleration and also use FSUPIC registered copy.

Thanks Mike, but that is starting to get out my comfort zone! I will let another more confident person try that out, I have no friendly IT support near me and would hate to screw anything important up.
I have never had any trouble before with .dll files in FSX not working, very odd problem!!

I use the VC round sliding airbrake/spoiler knob on the left side to set as much or as little airbrake/spoiler as I want. I will check again.

After installing the MS update, it still doesn't work, seems the same as calypsos ? Never had a problem like this before.

I have the same problems as you Calypsos, but I'm on Windows 7.

Oh ye Empeck please don't forget to include the yaw string if you can in the up coming patch.

EDIT: I did the registry thing as well with no difference.

All work fine for me. To get the Winch, you must press Shift + 1 on your keyboard.

I sent this up to SOH about two hours ago.

I can open the winch window and set distance, force and speed OK but nothing happens when I press launch.

I try to show a new install of the SZD-30 after uninstalling the previous SZD-30. I also made a back-up of the fsx.cfg and then deleted the 2 listed gauges from the fsx.cfg.

The screenys show the gauges accepted before the aircraft loads. Another shows the winch window loaded with values for launch ---but the launch button doesn't work

And a view from the VC of a tow plane ride with the left airbrake/spoiler blue handle set at 67%.

I believe this helps define the cable winch launch and variometer problem 4 of us have reported on this thread.
