Just some pics of the Trojan cockpit that I'd thought you may like to see (just so you know I'm still working on it, note colours and textures need more work to make it match better).

The circuit breaker panel

Standby compass and view out the front

The switch panel which controls most lights (the landing light is on the left side of the cockpit) and electrical stuff.

Trim panel and a bit of the throttle quadrant. 100 bonus points for anyone who can spot what's missing in this pic (from the front cockpit).

It looks like either the prop lever or mixture lever should be showing. I'm going to go with the mixture lever as it appears as though the airplane is sitting on the tarmac with the engine shut down. If that's the case then the prop lever would be all the way forward.

Of course another thing that is really missing from that front seat cockpit is: ME!!!:wiggle:

This is so cool. I have to admit, if you had asked us to guess what you were working on next, I never would have guessed a T-28. I'm really looking forward to this native FSX T-28. Thanks for the preview.

Wow!!! Finally an all singing and dancing full blown T-28 ! The cockpit sofar looks fantastic ! :applause::applause::applause:

Thanks very much for choosing the Trojan for your new project ! Now let the chugga, chugga begin !!

Missing ?? Not much as far as i can see.... Mebbe the aileron left trim digits ? You're working on that, right ?...

Thanks a lot again, Anthony ! :salute:

Cheers,
Jan

Looks cracking Anthony - having flown a real one almost 20 years ago - just an hour, mind you .... can hardly wait ! Cheers ! Mike :applause:

Great News...

What a great airplane! Below 12,000 the T28 is alleged to be able to out perform the P51. (Please note I said "alleged".)

Incredible work..I think you've found the secret to fooling the eye into thinking your really there..

T-28 Performance

It doesn't seem that they are exactly pushing the envelope there, so that performace differences would really rise up :wiggle:

Still, T28 is beautiful aircraft and this project looks awesome. I've seen few Trojans/Fennecs in Duxford airshow last year and I surely hope Trojan's very identifiable sound is captured well in this project

Just a few further comments about my comment. (1) I once joined on a T-28 (don't know if it was a "C" or "D") with my RV-8. I can do about 175 kts. wide open at 2,000 feet. The T-28 slowed down for me. When he pulled away I asked him his speed and he said normally about 250 kts. (2) My comment above actually was about "dog fighting" performance and not speed. I have a friend who flew various aircraft types in a foreign land during the 1960s. (He can not comment about which foreign land he was flying in.) Some of his flying mates had flown P-51s in combat (I remember him mentioning Korea). It is the wing foil shape that is primarily dictating this aspect of the T-28 performance.

I'm sure my opinion would be further refined if I wanted to do some research, but other projects have higher priority. All comments are welcome.

Superb stuff indeed.....wonderful!!!

I only have a small amount of T-28 time - 1:50 in a nine ship formation T-28B flight out of Oshkosh in 1998 and then Martin Willing's Fennec from North Weald a few years later. If I won the lottery tomorrow, think would have a Trojan rather than a Mustang as get more value for money.

Re Performance. The magic book tells us that in a T28 you can climb at about 4000fpm with military power. About 3500fpm at normal power.

Normal power will give about 260 kts at sea level if I've read the chart right.

So she's not slow. Although at the moment it has the airfile from the Drifter but with the data from the T28 put into the aircraft.cfg file so it flies like a scolded cat. But handles like a dead dog.

BTW the missing part was the blower lever in the throttle. Only the front cockpit has this in it and I think the reason I left it out is that the source aircraft doesn't have one anymore. It looks like it has been permanently fixed in the low position with the actual lever part being removed.

Here's a pic with the blower installed now. Plus I've finished the gear handle and the stick! Note the panel is just a dummy at the moment. The panel is actually the first part I put in and everything has been built around that. Yesterday I finally started on filling out the panel properly. You can also see the hole behind the panel which needs to be filled in at some point. Plus the seat needs to be textured as some point too.
