TAC goodness?

I am currently familiarising myself with this wonderful new world, and am trying to navigate with map, HUD compass and watch (but NOT TAC). The aircraft labels have been mentioned a lot, but can ground labels, towns, airfields ect be enabled alone? Just to check my navigation progress, you understand :icon_lol:.

Unfortunately, No. It's all or nothing

I wish there were a way to link the labels to the tactical display selection.. so if you have aircraft selected, only aircraft will have labels, etc., maybe it can eventually be done when Tom, "RexHannover," the game code genius has some time available to look into it?

RABU: It's the ViewUI.xml file in the main OFF folder

Only saw this today; thanks, RABU

About the identification of planes: in hazardous furball fights, I have sometimes approached a plane's silhouette dangerously close, without firing.
Sometimes they turned out to be wingmates; and I was glad I didn't shoot.

Sometimes they shot at me first. But fair enough - in the real theater, it wasn't different for them. You just couldn't always easily identify them.
And an opponent, whom you see as a silhouette against the sun, would see me perfectly exposed, with the same sun in his back...

Sorry, I missed what you are saying.. what about the viewUI.xml file? ..Oh, I see, you're referring to the changes on the first page of this thread, glad it is of some help. My head isn't to clear, long day at work..
As to the labels, the only thing I can see in there that you can do with labels is change their color.. you could change the enemy label color to something so it doesn't stand out so much but you would also have to figure out the ARGB hex code for the color you want.. I don't know of a convertor off hand.
