• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Talk about a silly "breach of copyright" law suit!

Ok, I can certainly see copyrighting a unique font if it is used as the trademarked logo of your product, but you cannot copyright common words.

Different colors, different font, and Monster Fish Keepers was issued a patent on their logo, so is Monster Energy Drink actually going to sue to make the word "monster" a copyrighted word? Will every man, woman, and child in the world have to pay a royalty to write or say the word "monster"? If so, I'm taking the dictionary down to the patent office and fill out a warehouse load of copyright applications!

I came across another petition in which Monster Energy Drink has filed an appeal with the trademark board trying to stop a lady's trademark application for the name and logo of her personal inspirational blog. The blog name is Release The Beast Within and the logo is a male lion jumping through the colored (blue or black) background. Monster Energy claims that this lady's trademark application jeopardizes their trademark in some way.

And I have seen a number of accounts of other people/sites/company's being targeted by Monster Energy Drink over the same thing......seems as though Monster Energy Drink is waging an all out war on anyone that they think may be in competition with them.....even though none of the trademarks they have filed appeals or suits over had anything in common with their trademarks nor were the sites or company's in the energy/sport drink field.
