Tandragee airfield, Northern Ireland

A bit more on the Ikarus C42 from Rikoooo. After finding some faults with the airplane in P3D_V2.4 I wrote to the website this morning advising them of the issues and suggested that they add somewhere that the airplane had not been tested in P3D_V2x which they have done. There have been many revisions since V2.0 was released and each one seems to move FSX aircraft farther and farther away from compatibility. So, while I think the aircraft is still worthy of download, especially for FSX of course but also at least for those Flying P3D_V1.4 and possibly even V2.0. . .beyond that however, you need to do some testing to see for yourself. I have kept it because I found the lack of clickabilty a small problem. . .the gauges function correctly so I can see at a glance how the aircraft is performing and adjustments for trim and flight controls and control surfaces are all mapped to either my CH Throttle or the Joystick buttons. I did add an AP for longer flights (the aircraft config file needs to be tweaked for this to be available).

For repainters the model is a bit frustrating because in many instances one texture has been used on multiple parts thru out the aircraft making it impossible to add color to areas that need it because that same color pops up in areas where your don't want it, lol. Case in point is the spinner. . .that texture is also one half of the left wheel pant and I believe the antenna mounted above the cockpit. There are other examples, so repaints may not be completed as per the original because of this shortcoming. Still. . .it's a cool little airplane, fun to fly and great for experiencing some of the latest detailed sceneries available.

I've uploaded the patch to the SOH library and Avsim for all UK2000 users.

fsfranek, indeed you need to know what you're looking for. We flew on line with a few guys last evening from Aldergrove and had fun trying to spot it and land on the tiny "driveway-runway". It was good to see the field full of planes. Like a fly-in!
