• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Taube's for Catfish

Hello Olham,
i certainly knew of this site, but thanks a lot, it seems the collection is becoming bigger, there are a lot of new photos i did not find before. And I guess it was you who already posted the Bundesarchiv link with all those photos posted there.
I built a flying Taube model when i was a boy, in my opinion (apart from the Levasseur Antoinette) this is one of the most elegant early planes, and if we believe the pilots (especially Hirth) it also had great flight attributes, or properties (?).

And if you stumble about any information about rigid airships type Zeppelin, and especially the naval one L59 (works number LZ104) somewhere ... a relative finally went down with it in the gulf of Otranto in 1918, and we are currently searching info about him and the airship - we plan to write a half-fictious story about it and the german DOA colony. There are certainly a lot of links, but if you accidentally find something interesting ... there's always one link you did not see before ... :gossip:

Always thought the Taube was very elegant design. My great grandfather called any aircraft he saw a 'Taube' presumably as a result of seeing them in 1914. According to my father it was quite odd to hear him describe 'Taubes' fighting over Kent in 1940 ;)
