Taz's New Project

but I do not have the others I bought FSDS when it came out lost that when my computerng on was stolden so i am here in CFS3 for awhile might go back to my racing games and design cars over there don't get harsh comments there.and as far as the texan goes it just got pushed back behind red when I finish red I might get back to the texan I built the model so I am happy working on the cockpit that is a challenge thanks for the advice might have to look in the other direction. where my talent may be needed.

Taz

Well, I have yet to see a harsh comment made on this thread. certainly not from John or Clive who have supported your work on the Texan. I hope I dont come across that way. Anyway, I am not suggesting you turn away from cfs3. I just think your 3ds/gmax models would export well into those games and possibly increase download #'s if that is how you are measuring success.

Either way good luck with your modeling!

Steve

Sorry to hear about the Texan, but do what you enjoy the most. If generating interest from the community is part of that enjoyment, then you can't go wrong with the T-6 - lots of interest there. Hope to see you around still.

Exactly, he should complete the one he likes more, because maybe when he's done with Snoopy and Red, the Texan might include some special stuff, but if he were to go with it now, there might be problems.

Wasn't trying in anyway to be harsh, and I don't think I was "cutting deep" either, just that CFS3, and especially this forum, on the whole, go for the more historical models. The Texan is a great CFS3 project to do, you can already see the interest in it!
You mentioned your Snoopy project being a flop, I've no idea wether it was or not, I was only giving you a possible reason if it was, why, it's nothing to do with your model skills, or anything else apart from the historical aspect as far as I can see?

Steve's right, the majority of us are crusty old ####ers!

Over and out!

I know, my vocabulary is only riddled with words I repeat, not words I've learned, so sorry if any got mad on accounts of me saying ..............I'm outView attachment 69314

?¿?¿?¿

ok I am not mad or upset even my point was I enjoy doing peanut stuff more than I do real stuff for the simple reason it is about fun not death and destruction. I am doing the harvard as a favor for Patte so it will get done trying to find good prints of the cockpit and not doing so will the model was easy about a week is all I have done with it going back threw it touching things up why I find some good cockpit pics will build the shell of it but that is far as I will be able to go with it until then.

What's that, eh? what what what! Speak up, can't you! I don't know, they all whisper or mutter these days, now where's me slippers where did I put them?

Understood Taz, no problem!:mixedsmi:

Were all happy then, apart from Tom, who can't find his slippers!:icon_lol:

Thanks Taz! Give me a day or two and I'll find a book that I have that details all of the weapon loadouts and locations on the wings. A quick search on the net didn't produce anything.:icon29:

question

if you have a good drawing of the cockpit I would take that too if you would be so kind

Thanks
Taz

Here's one that shows 3 rockets under each wing and what looks like a 75gal drop tank.

As far as paint schemes go, something from the Korean War and some RAF Harvard skins would be great in addition to those you posted. The blue Navy SNJ Texans look quite classy as well. Lots of profiles here for inspiration: http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/o/80 If you're interested in different variants, the CAC Wirraway was based on the T-6 and might be a fun addition. Just throwing out some ideas.

?¿?¿?¿

This plane is not freeware so I Don't see MAW doing anything with it.Sorry not doing freeware anymore.

Taz

I know if someone buys it they can use it with their MAW install, you could probably paint a Mediterranean scheme on one.................

?¿?¿?¿

True cause it will be released with a photoshop template for painting the same one I used to paint the plane with to make it easier for those master painters out here.
