TBF Avenger Mk. II released by Allen!

Allen,
it would have to be along the long axis. the bomb could then be just 2 polys. the real work would be the bmp and the codeing. If you can figure it out I'll give it a go. would that be the Y asis or the X axis?

Steve,
That would be great. The specs are the biggest thing. I can work off of a drawing if there are no good pics.

UT,
If we do the 2 sided polys, could you do the bmp?

If this works we could do all of the types that I've been wanting to do. If not the polys might still work if they are added to a couple of full models. Either way I think this might get us some cluster bombs. we can do dummy bombs to give the effects to the models.

I have the next three nights off so let me know what you all think.

Till Later,
John

lets see which way we want to go with it. I also want to do a few other bombs for the SBC's. so this would be a great test.

Here are my thoughts...

AI type bombs will work for a few of these.

Though some like the 2kg SM and the 4lb IBs will require something like the leaflet approach.

I would still like to try the rotate to aircraft idea. Although this could backfire if we have to many objects moving like that.

Whilst researching for a range of Palembang skins I got distracted & did an ETO skin. The turret gunner of this 854 FAA a/c shot down a passing V-1 with just 20 rounds...

John,

I hope that gunner bought a lottery ticket or went to a Bingo tournament when he got home...what a lucky shot!

Andrew,

It helped that they had watched the first one pass them by - so they waited, & sure enough a second V-1 appeared on the same trajectory... pretty sharp deflection shooting all the same.

Last one, then I'll start packing them for upload...

On 14th August Lt Voak of 854 FAA shot down a V-1 flying bomb with his front guns. A few short weeks later he & his squadron were off to Ceylon to meet up with HMS Indomitable. During the period around the Palembang raids, a photo was taken of an Avenger with a V-1 kill marking. This allowed me to create a repaint having found out the aircraft serial number, aircraft code letter, & match back to the earlier V-1 kill...
