WOW! This airport brings back memories. We staged out of here from Fort Bragg at night with 16 Blackhawks enroute to a little known island called Grenada back in '83. Offloaded from C-5s late and ended up after putting blades back on doing the testflights in the dark (pretty much illegal). Believe it was about 140 NM enroute, we eventally ended up flying about 50 to 100' off the water in formation. Flying a MEDEVAC, we were the only aircraft with a functional hoist - in the event! Ah the memories!
