To all CFS2 flyers,
Team Daedalus is readying the release of our tribute to Akemi and his Fw190s which we began work on two years ago. Before his death Akemi gave us permission to update his Fw190A-8 model. We lost contact with him during his illness but based on further input from Igacci assuring us that Akemi would have wanted us to complete our work, we have done so.
This project enhances Akemi’s basic Fw190 models and creates additional versions. His models are the basis, to which we made some small corrections, changed some material color assignments, modeled new details which distinguished various marks of the 190s and added them to the base model, new dp files, new air files, new aircraft cfg files, new panels, lots of new skins, and Paul modeled a whole new Luftwaffe weapons set comprising mounting racks, drop tanks, bombs and rockets appropriate for the different marks.
Here is the development work plan Team Daedalus laid out for the Akemi Fw190 project. Most is now completed though there are still a couple of projected versions that are not finished – and might not happen as real life demands on Paul, Gary and myself have to take priority. Even so, Team Daedalus has completed 15 different marks - yes 15 – and 46 different individual Team Daedalus / Akemi Fw190 aircraft.
In the next couple of weeks I will post some previews of the 190’s you can expect to see. It's an extensive catalog and it is going to take me some time to get it all packaged up - plus some additional finish up work is still going on.
