Thought I would give everyone a teaser of the "After Mission" Read Me's (since I stayed up
wayyyy later than I should have!)

These will be included with each mission. Some may be "Before Mission" reads, depending
on how I string the story together. Enjoy!

TURNING TIDES/"Richtovens Request" After Mission Read;

Captain Wulfe Blitzer cuts into the airfield runway sharp and almost violently as a line of tracer rounds
fire off in front of him, just missing the cockpit windshield. Flak is still exploding around the plane as the
Ace Captain hits the brakes and drops the flaps into full down position. The plane quickly slows down
and comes to a hard stop.

Captain Blitzer looks back nervously at his very important delivery, Chancellor Von Richtoven. The
Chancellor offers a slight grin, "Excellent flying Hauptmann Blitzer! Excellent flying!". Just as they
both regain their composure, the airfields loud speaker crackles to life."Cease fire! - Cease fire!,
freindlies on the field!"....

The Chancellor gives Captain Blitzer a firm reassuring pat,"I believe that is our cue that our
sorry hides are safe my good Hauptmann."

As Chancellor Von Richtoven and Captain Blitzer exit the plane,an airfield jeep pulls up in
front of them, occupied by two firm looking Irish Military Police Officers. The driver jumps out
and straight to attention as he informs the Chancellor and Captain Blitzer,"The President
awaits you inside Chancellor Von Richtoven.". Von Richtoven grabs Captain Blitzer by the
shoulder with a friendly shake,"Come Hauptmann, I believe a good Irish Whiskey awaits us!".

As Richtoven and Blitzer enter the lightly lit meeting room,a studious and well dressed
man, with a bottle of "Dunville" Irish whiskey in one hand, and two shot glasses in the other,
turns to greet them. "Welcome to Dublin my good Chancellor,Von Richtoven!" The Irish
President puts down the bottle and glasses on the table and holds out a welcoming hand
to both Richtoven and Blitzer. Von Richtoven firmly shakes President de Valeras hand
with a hearty German grin. "Thank you Mr.President and for this grand opportunity to
meet like this. We have much to discuss!". President de Valera smiles and recovers the
bottle of "Dunville" and the shot glasses and begins to pour. "Yes my good Chancellor,
but,...pleasure before buisness,eh?".

The meeting seemed relativley cheery and quiet for the most part to the two guarding M.P.s
outside the door. One M.P. looks at his watch."20 minutes,...so far so good." Before the other
M.P. had a chance to reply,he stopped in mid sentence as all of a sudden voices raised in
frustration from inside the room, and the door flies open. "This is unacceptable President
de Valera!" Von Richtoven shouts as he turned to storm out. The Chancellor stops himself
mid step then turns to face de Valera. The good natured and cheery smile wasnt there
anymore as he spoke. "Thank you for your hospitality Mr.President.We shall go now.".

The airfield didnt seem as warm as it was upon arrival,Captain Blitzer thought as they
were driven back out to their awaiting flight. "I'm sorry Chancellor that I risked your life
for nothing",Captain Blitzer quietly spoke. Von Richtoven shot the Captain a reassuring
smile and said,"It wasnt all for nothing my good Hauptman.Afterall, you did enjoy your
whiskey did you not?". The Captain smiled and nodded. "...but I tell you Hauptmann,
the President was a FOOL for refusing a pact with the might of Germany!".

So, like the battle of britain but, the battle of ireland?

The first part of it will be more like Irelands "Pearl Harbor". For whatever politics prevail,
Ireland has so far stayed out of the war,(like the U.S.) Richtoven has gone from that
courteous and courageous pilot, to a Dominator.

Not everyone knows the "Rising Tide" game story, so heres a wiki breakdown of it. That may
bring a better understanding of this whole thing.

The basis for the events in Rising Tide is essentially that the British passenger ship Lusitania was not sunk by a German U-boat in the First World War, but instead completed her voyage without incident. This event, or lack thereof, basically prevented the United States from entering the war on the side of the allies, thereby dooming the French and BEF (British Expeditionary Force) to defeat from the German offensives in 1918. With total victory in France, the German Empire formally annexes France and Britain (which was occupied as a result of the treaty that ended the war), and becomes the German Weltreich (World Empire). Upon the occupation of Britain, Winston Churchill- then Britain's chief naval strategist- flees to Hong Kong with the rest of the British government on the fleet flagship, the new battlecruiser HMS Hood.
Factions

Imperial Germany- The German Weltreich is, arguably, the most powerful nation in the Enigma world in 1937. Imperial Germany controls the vast majority of Europe and Africa and has a powerful battleship fleet based out of Scapa Flow, Scotland. The Imperial German Navy (IGN) maintains a powerful fleet of U-Boats, mainly Type-VII boats from the Great War, as well as the new Type-IX boats. At the time of the game, the IGN is in active conflict with the LFN (see below) and near conflict with the US. Under construction at Kiel are the new battleships Bismarck and Tirpitz. Germany is led by Kaiser Wilhelm II and his chancellor, Manfred von Richthofen (the Red Baron), who avoided death in the Great War thanks to America's failure to intervene.

United States- The U.S. is the second powerhouse nation. Their failure to intervene in the Great War resulted in the collapse of England and France, but during the course of the campaign no one seems to feel any regret for this. The U.S. fleet is composed mainly of carrier and destroyer task forces, and no US battleships are present in chapter 1. The US doesn't seem to be portrayed as either good or evil, but they seem to lean more towards evil at the end of chapter 1. The US is secretly hostile towards the Germans, and defends itself against the LFN when necessary. One fact that is important to note is that the US is devoted to the support of independent Ireland, and has a number of convoys to that country that are subject to controversy. The United States is led by Harry S. Truman. It seems that the US has somehow managed to avoid the Great Depression and as a result had no need for Roosevelt.

League of Free Nations- The League comprises Imperial Japan and the British government in Exile, which is based in Hong Kong. The League is a shadowy group which seems to be hostile towards both the Americans and Germans, as they strike at both on every opportunity. The LFN fleet is composed mainly of submarines and the powerful task force built around the battlecruiser HMS Hood (refitted in the 1920s to eliminate the armor problem that caused the real Hood 's demise). The LFN is led by the British Government in Exile, headed up by Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Their lone goal is to retake Great Britain, no matter what the cost.
