Thanks chaps. Don't forget this is Ted's bird, all I'm doing is tinkering :). This is the LOD100 and is about 80% finished. It still needs endcaps and emitters pylons etc etc.

I'm also intending to put ideas like the bullet holes in the canopy into this. Is there anything else that can be added to the gmax model to make future mods and addons easier?

I'll be sending it very soon Rob as the xdp etc will need doing. The fm is a bit odd too. It's using the fs9 one but the wings keep falling off, it thinks it's going too fast all the time!
 
emitters for lights, exhausts, etc. Were there any interesting applications of this aircraft that we might try to develop? Leigh lights, etc? If so there are often things that can only be done by building it into the original, just need to know what they are...
How do you plan on doing bullet holes in the glass Clive?
 
Very interesting Clive! I've been trying something similar without success so far, seems it must be built into the model to work. I've seen video of Il-2's effects for cockpit glass - bullet holes, oil smears, blood, they all look great. Would be wonderful to get that into our sim too.

I don't think there were anything like that. However she seemed to carry a wide variety of loadouts. BC used it a great deal for 'Gardening' operations (mine-laying), CC used her briefly as a torpedo bomber. There maybe more, but that the limit of my info.
 
What ever happened to this aircraft ?Whas it released ?Where any missions made for it ?

I should think Clive still has rather a lot to do to it: LODs, damage model, gauge animations, gun stations and bomb aimer's positions. And he still has to earn a living to keep t'missus and t'others in the style to which they're accustomed....
 
Just amazing how folks can build these models at home...............would seem to be a full-time job at the best of times. And they are soooooooooo good!

(flat-out just loading & getting 'em to go .....)

:) Luckily there accustomed style is a simple as mine Tom!

Ted 'Nachtpiloten' has taken over the model as there were issues with it that I was having trouble resolving, so it's in excellent hands!
