Could someone tell me how to install the textures and repaints for airplanes I've tried several thing but when I do it the plane disappears from the game until I put it back the way it was before

Hi SA,
Look at the name of your new texture folder. If it is called something like "texture.raf" or "texture.annie" then you should open the aircraft.cfg and at the top, where it says "texture=" you should add the extra script. So, if your new texture folder says "texture=raf", add "raf" after the equals sign. It is best to use one texture folder per aircraft. Don't forget to change the name at the top of the aircfaft.cfg.

:gossip: here an exemple of a cfg txt with in the AC folder the texture folders named as :
texture,texture.2,texture.3,texture.4,texture.9,texture.10

Usually I rename the new "texture.something" folder as just "texture". Of course after having made a back-up of the previous texture folder by changing it's name : "texture.old" for example. :typing:
This method allows only one texture per aircraft folder at a time. This may help you to avoid to reach the 100 aircraft/texture limit if you have dowloaded many aircraft.

Now it says that it can't find the any of the bombs in the libary how can I fix that

Stroker,

Let's back up and clairify the situation.

1. What plane are you adding textures to?

2. What textures are you trying to add and who made them?

3. What weapons package is being used?

With that info, we should be able to get sorted out.

Here is another way,

I check the New Texture with the established Texture. to see If they match.

I then make a Copy of the Established Plane, then Copy and Paste the New Texture into the established Plane's Texture, thus it overides the Orginal.

I then change the title to a new Plane and....then Remane the flie of the " Copyed plane "

example.......

Plane named " Spitfire "

Copyed plane " Copy of Spitfire " changed to " Spitfire, XX "

This allows you to Use the New plane seperately from old....

.....if the orginal had a Sandy Texture and the copy has a Russian Winter Texture.

sorta funny to have a ....North African Sandy Spitfire trying to shoot down a Finnish Winter Do-17.

just a thought
