more pictures.....

As promised, some pictures from the changes. According to Dan San Abbott the undercarriage from Hans Burckhard van Buttlar's Pfalz was painted rea and the dark band on the fuselage was read instead of dark blue.

After some help from Randy "Baron von Blutwurst" Foss I have been draw a more logical moon. The moon is greyish silver and does not contain any drawn details.

I hope you like them.

Now it it bed time and tomorrow evening it is footbal/soccer training, I will try to find a gap somewhere to upload them ;).

Thanks for all the kind words guys, I just love to do repaints and Stuart's models are just the perfect canvas!

The Pfalz is perhaps Stuart's most detailed and complex model. Even the flight model has some historically correct suprises :d :applause: .

Ltn Walther F. Kleffel's Pfalz D-IIIa with the "smoking man-n-the-moon". However I'm not really satisfied yet :redf:.

Does anybody have a better picture form the smoking moon? I have done this one after the box art from the Roden model :kilroy:.

Cheers,
Huub

Hey Huub,....happy as a clam in high tide with your Pfalz-DIIA repaints. However, I was wondering one wee thing,...the repaint I downloaded for the Walter Kieffel aircraft is missing the half moon's mouth and the eye/eyebrow like the one you posted. Maybe I screwed up somehow?

Loving these recent Pfalz skins Huub! Here's a shot for you - have it in original size/quality if you are interested - Edited it to look like an oil on canvas painting.

Hi Brad,

You didn't screw up anything. I did the moon with the details after a box-top art work form the 1:48 Roden kit. However this art work doesn't show the complete moon. Therefore I asked whether anybody had a good picture from the half moon.

Randy "Baron van Blutwurst" Foss was so kind to email me a picture how the moon looked according to aviation historian Ray Rimell. Which is how the moon looks in this repaint now.

As it is most likely that both the artwork for the Roden kit and Ray Rimell's picture are done after the same picture series which shows Jasta 15 on Balatre. I don't think anyone has a print of these pictures which are good enough to really tell which moon is right.

Personally I like Ray Rimell's version better I have included this one. However for those who like the "Roden" moon better, just drop me a PM with your e-mail address and I will e-mail the texture with the other moon to you.

Mike,

I like the picture Mike, As I would love to have it, I will drop you a PM with my e-mail address.

Wombat,

As I have never been very good in politics, my departure as staff was most likely unavoidable. I consider most members in the FS2004 forum as my friends, therefore I never intended to leave the SOH.

Keep some room in your hangars guys as I have two more repaints planned for the Pfalz before I most probably return to the Fokkers again :costumes:. Or I might do a small side step and try to make a paintkit for Ito San's beautiful Macchi MC.200.

Cheers,
Huub
