The Bristol Bristol Beaufighter exhibited weak longitudinal stability and poor characteristics, especially following loss of an engine on take-off. One example was fitted with a larger tailplane with twin endplate fins in an attempt to address these problems. The final solution, adopted on later Marks was a 20% increase in tailplane area accompanied by 12 degrees of tailplane dihedral. I think this might be one. Robert
It's a Gloster F9/37 Grimreaper built by Bill Holker in 2007. It had a lot of conversion features. The landing gear wheels penetrated the upper nacelle cover. A lot of good people worked on it without success until I asked MAV to did it! It's a fantastic model for a very promising aircraft with some interesting features, like a 15° battery of three 20 mm cannons installed after the cockpit.
