• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

My wife thought I should get my own computer, because I had started messing her`s up. I wouldn`t go near it, until one day she asked me to turn it off. The next time she turned it on, there was a message about not being turned off the right way. After getting a few instructions, I was answering her e mails for her at the shop. I do not know what led me to CFS2. I have 2 copies of most flight sims, 4 CFS2. Just in case I wear it out. I bought 2 copies of them because I had great plans of flying with my wife. Well, I never did figure that out. She tried pacific fighters for awhile. She`s into the call of duty stuff. I only use CFS2, but I think some of the others may be usefull for CFS2 stuff. You guys are right, I am going to take it slow. There is a lot to learn. It is just so tempting. I see something on the site, and it`s "Oh, baby, I gotta have that!" I think for now, I will look into more realistic flying. I am working on flying without all the aids. Also, I am going to look into flying without the auto fuel mixture. I want to keep the radio chatter, because without those guys, It`s hard to find those zeros! I do have 1 question. Does it matter if you log out, when you finish? I have not been doing that, sorry if it`s bad thing. Thanks again, guys, I promise not to be this long winded in the future, see ya, Rick

Don't know about everybody else but I stay logged in all the time. Since the site knows what thread you're viewing I'm pretty sure it also knows when you've bailed out.

Wow Mariereid, your wife sounds cool, mine thinks computers are for e-mail and that's about all. She cannot understand the hours I spend on it.

Yes, Naismith, my wife is cool, smart, beautiful, my best friend, and is standing right behind me as I write this. Iam pretty sure most of our wifes wounder what the heck we find so facinating about our hobby. I was in the navy with a guy named Naismith, claimed his great grandfather invented basketball. See ya, Rick

Real flying:

I am quite interested in "real" flying too. I am building a Beaufort Torpedo Bomber set of missions that develop "real" flying skills--instruments, navigation and so forth. I think I am about a month out from having my beta ready. The series of missions is for use without the tactical display, and to be flown in real time. The longest missions in the group are 1.5 hour.

But--this series of missions is only the Operational Training Unit. No enemy shows up at all. The idea is to model the experience of pilot training before embarking on the operational missions, which will be the subject of a follow up series.

enjoy.
