That's it, I'm going to Google Chrome as my default browser.

I have been using Firefox since Version 1.0, but Mozilla poohed the scrooch with Version 4.0. It sucks. Twice I tried to reply to a post in FF and the damn engine froze up, not the first time either.

Came over to Chrome and no problems, ditto IE's latest browser, which I consider the best IE in ages, at least it has not frozen on me.

Anybody else have problems with the latest version of FF like I do?

YES !!...i stopped using google chrome because of some silly little problem...but FF has updated a few times since i switched and it stincks now...problem is...i cant figure out how to send my bookmarks from FF to chrome...

My IE8 scored 32 with no bonus points!
Firefox was 255 with bonus points....
What is this all about? How is it measured, and who is sponsoring the results?
Installing Google Chrome now, see what happens! :)
Well, 293 + 13 bonus points on Google Chrome!
Can anybody explain these results? It's like saying a sausage is 'that' big!

Honestly the opposite is happening to me. Chrome keeps coming up with server not responding pages on many forums. I try it in the new IE and it works perfect. Don't know what happened to chrome but it ain't what it used to be.

I think there is some crap out ther infecting browsers. IE8 got so messed up I ended up uninstlling and reinstalling it. I have Chrome as a back up.

Firefox started giving me fits a while back, so I went to IE8 and have no complaints with it.

With any browser the problems usually occur from virus or spyware infections that attack the browsers and essentially shuts them down, try to stay away from toolbars especially those to do with FB.. I have been using FF4 and I haven't had any problems with FB or otherwise..

I ditched FF over 18 months ago after putting up with almost 12 months of instability, caused by their introduction of really clever stuff which was of no use to me, and made worse by every subsequent update.
I now use PaleMoon, which is essentially FF with all the too-clever-by-half stuff stripped out. Can't quote any numbers or give technical explanations; it works for me, and I am happy with it. Have a look here:

They all degrade with time...cookies, Java apps, plugins...Chrome ran like a dream for months, then started going spongy.
You'd have to refresh a website to get a link to click through!
Now I run Chrome in Stealth mode which has partly reinstated it.
(278+13 bonus points for the HTML5 test, FWIW)

I have tonight tried five browsers (worth doing), and think I will settle with the latest Google Chrome. (IE8 Backup).
Still, I cannot connect to certain sites, Meteox and Britsim for example, (Are you reading this Leif?).
I haven't tried any downloads yet, but just assume that everything will be fine...
This just seems to be the fastest browser available for my needs.

Hey All,

I'm still on Firefox 3pointsomething. As long as it works I'll stick to it.

What I've seen is viruses running rampant on the net and it seems nothing stops them ahead of time - if you click on the "wrong" page your infected instantly. I fought one this morning ulg.exe or some such thing and have fought the buy me programs ones as well. I have antivir up to date, spybot S&D uptodate, I believe I have avast on this computer, I also do have malwarebytes and rkill. I keep rkill under multiple executable file names as well. These programs "clean" your computer but do not stop you from being initially infected. Of course the viruses disable or substitute themselves for all these programs and things like windows explorer and task manager and browsers and windows update but I've got a bat file to reinstall the windows update service. You can have problems with activeX in IE8 as well.

The only thing I've found you can do is make sure you have a second computer so you can google whatever your seeing and start trying things to fix it. I've also used the star trek calculate pi strategy of making the computer busy doing something in another program so that rkill would start and run killing virus processes without being stopped by the virus in time - then use malwarebytes and Spybot to clean up. The other thing these viruses like to do is hide files, directories and whole drives but they are usually there if you can unhide them. Don't assume everything is gone. It's getting crazy and I wonder how much has to do with browsers failing to protect users.

Been using Chrome for about 2 years now on Vista 32 bit. I've kept it's simple layout and avoided junking it up with lots of extra toolbars (I hate those things). Chrome seems to carry out quite a lot of little updates on itself almost every day...I think they keep right on top of cyber invasion.

It's never given me any grief.

When my IE8 quite woking with googe images I had no toolbars *still don't* Just Java and Flash. I made sure Java and Flash were up to date. It didn't help but the full uninstall and reinstall fixed it.

I think I'm geting bogged down again by something again. Spybot - Search & Destroy can't find it too.

Firefox 4 and not a single problem to be seen.
I just don't bother with all the 'extras'.
Chrome is my backup but I'll check out the PaleMoon variation.
IE8 ......... never!!!

hated Goggle Chrome

I tried Google Chrome and hated it . they have many features that made it very difficult to find web pages and download things ,so I uninstalled it. Just my two cents worth.Things work much better now, I have IE8 right now and am much happier since I got rid of Chrome.

I upgraded to FF 4 when it came out and for the first couple of weeks I was getting the BSOD once and twice a day. Suddenly it started working fine and I've no problems since. I think I'll stay with FF since there's no learning curve to challenge my poor brain.
