A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Scenery Add-Ons

Description: This is a consolidation package for all of the scenery created and required for the 20th Fighter Group campaign. In this package, you will find all the scenery that's needed in order to be able to fly the campaign, as well as many other ETO campaigns that I have created in the past. This includes a combination of Achim's airfields, Ettico's EuroTargets, & my own creations, along with two new airfields by Captain Kurt.

This is the third in a series of five packages for the 20th Fighter Group. Other downloads will include aircraft and then the actual mission / campaign files. These packages are intended to greatly lessen the workload of the user, thereby allowing them to install the numerous parts needed for this campaign with the minimal amount of downloads possible, & also to minimize the risk of any objects being left out.

Good evening,

Hey guys, I am going to work on the aircraft tomorrow and over the weekend; I need to round up the weapons, and that may take a while.

By the way, for those who install the scenery, please post some screenshots of your installation for all to see! :very_drunk:

Thanks. :encouragement:

Merging the payloads won't be a problem, and I will have to try and see if the missions still work when using TD's airfiles. I think it would be a shame if TD's airfiles didn't work well in these missions, because they did a killer job to make them as close as possible to the real birds.

EDIT : there are no payloads other than 'Guns only' in Akemi's original Fw190s (which is quite weird in the case of the F version), so may I use either Kelticheart's or ChrisN's DPs ?

Roxanne-21,

In all of my ETO campaigns, this is the .dp modification package that I use for Akemi's Fw-190s: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=17&id=14042

Thank you Rami. You have done a wonderful job for the benefit of this community. Its a great addition to your Missions.:jump:

Just wondering

There now is an aircraft pack 2 and 3 - but shouldn't there be a pack 1 first? Or is that the object pack?

Finn,

There will be an aircraft pack_1, but I am waiting for permission from either Gramps or Moparmike to release and/or modify the FDG aircraft. (P-51, P-47, C-47, and B-17) Those will be in the first package. The readme and instructions are all set, ready to go when I get the okay.

Captain Kurt did the same thing when he released the 354th Fighter Group.

20th Fighter Group missions pack.zip

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Campaigns Add-Ons

Description: Welcome to the 20th Fighter Group campaign! These two campaigns totaling forty missions are dedicated to the legacy of the 20th Fighter Group, who until August, 1944 flew the Lockheed P-38 Lightning in the skies over Europe. Alongside the 55th, they bravely dealt with some of the inadequacies of the Lockheed design, including frequent engine failures, inferior roll-rates, and dangerous diving characteristics. Nevertheless, their tactics and dedication enabled them to tangle with the Luftwaffe and salvage a superior victories-losses ratio. Despite their problems, they were effective in bomber escort, & they really made their lasting mark during the spring of 1944 flying ground-attack missions that typically followed uneventful patrols and bombing escorts. Their trademark of "killing" enemy trains had a significant impact on the entire German transportation network, and even more critically, on the enemy's ability to reinforce the Normandy area following the Allied landings on June 6th, 1944.

These missions follow a timeline from October 11th, 1943 until July 21st, 1944. The two campaigns are linear in sequence, so that you get to fly all of the missions. The first seven missions are converted from a very old CFS1 campaign, which was the inspiration for this entire project, and are not historical, with the exception of missions three and seven. The seven missions essentially serve as a "warm-up" to get you acclimated to flying the P-38. Starting with mission eight, all the remaining missions are historical, with some accommodation when required.

The later missions were inspired by an IL-2 campaign for the 20th Fighter Group, which used the 20th's intelligence bulletins, the pilot logbook of 1st Lieutenant Zell Wyman, and this pilot's personal recollections of his combat experience. The dates, locations, operation profiles, and other details including the weather and the visibility are all historically accurate. The weather conditions include multiple cloud decks, rain, and restricted visibility in some cases.

This is the final package for the 20th Fighter Group campaign. Other downloads have included the required objects, scenery, aircraft, and ships. These packages are intended to greatly lessen the workload of the user, thereby allowing them to install the numerous parts needed for this campaign with the minimal amount of downloads possible, and also to minimize the risk of any objects being left out.

Thanks Rami

Hi Rami,

Thanks for all your efforts with the compilation of the files required.:applause:

It will make CFS2 a lot easier to use.

I have downloaded your files but 20th_Fighter_Group_aircraft_pack_2 gets blocked by AVAST.

The offending file seems to be: hxxp://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=15&id=18672|GAUGES\Mosquito.gau

I should be able to temporarily disable AVAST.

Cheers,

Stuart

Stuart,

That's odd, usually it's the GSLadd.exe file that causes issues with AVAST. :dizzy:

And thanks for the compliments. :very_drunk:
