It's too quiet in here. Hope this will liven things up a bit.

I just uploaded the historical campaign I have been working on about the 82nd Fighter Group, a high scoring P-38 outfit in the 12th Air Force, fighting in the Mediterranean Theater. The player will fly 54 missions beginning in England, moving to Algeria, then Tunisia, then Sicily and ending in Italy on Nov.1, 1943 when the Group was transferred to the 15th Air Force.

This is a comprehensive campaign which will provide an immersive environment taking you into the experience of a 82[SUP]nd[/SUP] Fighter Group pilot.

The package includes:

  • 16 new airfields in North Africa, Sicily, Sardinia and Italy.
  • 10 modified OH P-38 Lightning F and G models with new accurate flight models, new .dp files to increase AI aggressiveness, adding correct drop tanks, and historical 82[SUP]nd[/SUP] FG paint schemes. Two have special flight models - one optimized for ground attack AI performance – and one as a shoot down victim
  • Upgraded Paul Rebuffat Bf109s with new .dp, air, and config files, new cockpits and accurate historical paint schemes.
    • Three Bf109G-2 trop
    • Two Bf109G-4 Trop
    • One Bf109G-6
  • A new Team Daedelus FW190F-8 model with accurate flight model, .dp file with correct ordinance and guns, and historical paint scheme
  • A new Team Daedalus FW190A-5 jabo model with accurate flight model, .dp file with correct ordinance and guns, and historical paint scheme
  • Two new historical B26A Marauder paint schemes for the Bismarck Marauder model
  • USAAF personnel figures to liven up the airfields
  • High resolution paint schemes for stock CFS2 buildings making them suitable for European theater buildings
  • A new splash screen and UIRES campaign screens set for the 82[SUP]nd[/SUP] Fighter Group with actual color USAAF period photos from the MTO, new accurate medals and awards (including Oak Leaf Clusters for multiple awards of the same medal, Distinguished Unit Citations and the MoH) Actual 82nd FG pilot names are used.
  • Additional action radio chatter to increase immersion, taken from unused CFS2 and CFS1 voice clips
  • A Savoia Marchetti SM82 Canguru model converted from Capt. I. D'Attomo’s FS2004 model and given a new historical paint scheme.
  • New historical paint schemes are also provided for the following:
  • A new historical paint scheme for the Alpha A20B Havoc
  • Three new historical paint schemes for the Tango Romeo B-25 C/D model
  • A new historical paint scheme for the Alpha Arado Ar196
  • Two new historical paint schemes for the ME210a
  • A new historical paint scheme for the Grimes – Straney Bf110D
  • New markings added for the KM P40F-10

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Campaigns Add-Ons

Description: A historical campaign for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2. It is being presented as a two part download because of the file size.

The 82nd Fighter Group was by any standard one of the most successful USAAF fighter units of the war. Its pilots destroyed 548 enemy aircraft in the air and were credited with several hundred more probably destroyed or damaged during its 30 months of service in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations and was the second highest scoring P-38 Group in WWII.

It was assigned to the 12th Air Force (tactical) until November 1, 1943 before being transferred to the new 15th Air Force (strategic). This 54 historical mission campaign follows the Group's exploits while part of the 12th AF in the Mediterranean Theater, over Tunisia, Sicily and Italy.

Nope...sorry, I'm still hearing crickets. You're going to have to do better than this. :costumed-smiley-034

Are you kidding? :jawdrop:

Outstanding work on this, Capn! I'll have to take her out for a spin ASAP! :medals:

My God..

Dear Captain Kurt,

You are making these campaigns faster than I can fly them - i' still enjoying your PREVIOUS effort. THANK YOU for doing these wonders.

Thank you for a fantastic campaign, I have allready flown 10 missions even the P38 is not my favourite aircraft, it is quite a job to tangle with the 109 es and even worse with the FW 180 ts. I have the deepest respect for theese pilots of the time fighten again theese odds. But you are right, nothing happend for a long period, danish journalists call it cucumber time ,typically around the time of the year when the cucumbers are ready to pick. I am keeping my mouth shut as I can not contribute with anything myself, I would if I could, but few have done anything like this campaign, IT IS OUTSTANDING CAPT.
Thanks again
Killer Svend

I just started a complete, new MTO install just to fly this campaign. Thanks for the superb work done in this Captain Kurt. I've been flying in "IL2-1946" for a while and it feels good to come back to CFS2.

Well, I may have spoke to soon. It looks like CFS2 does not like MS windows 8.1. The game will not regenerate any new "filelist" on restart. In fact, as I add the scenery asked for the campaign none of the airfields will show up in the airfield menu. Plus the dreaded FF/QC failed is now an issue. Sad.

Thanks Capt. K,

I love flying P-38s in simulated combat.

I fell in love with them during my Aces High campaign.

Thanks Capt K. That sure is a lot of hard work. I have always enjoyed the Mediterranean theatre and am looking forward to trying this out. Very well done.
:applouse:
Dick.
