The Big E Fast Carrier raids..

Anybody get an error in the above campaign or single mission >CV6-FCR_07-14GSL.mis< "CV6-07-Taroa Follow up Strike 1", mine starts with SBD starting midair (no carrier) and plops into the drink. Anybody? previous mission/campaign works.

I reloaded (recopied) the files for the episode in my first post, still does the same. You could try it in mission mode and it does the same, on my system. Right at the start, loads without issues, and is up in the air, and goes plop city, into the drink. I see a water trail that should be the ship, but nada! Never had this before.
 
I made some missions that did somthing like this.

In my case the plane would drop threw the deck. This was with the stock CV6... Never found a fix.

I had the very same experience, and thus never made it through the Big E-raids. Mission loads perfectly, and all of a sudden you splash into the sea. And since it takes the plane a little to sink, I looked around, but no ship in sight. I too have both versions of the Big E on the drive, but ended in the drink every time I tried. Never found a solution, and just gave up. In case someone finds out what causes this, I' ll want to fly the campaign again.

I know your pain, with this. I deleted out the runway, in the guts of the episode, just above the pile of text that describes the mission (near the bottom) and still no joy. Some original M$ carrier ops don't have extraneous runways, some do. I left a query on this website, but no answer why this is so, when we have to add runways to the airbase.dat list. Just another anomaly of M$ programming? Any Guru's out there?, HELP!

I checked my install and I have an update that is not in the library.
I have attached it and maybe Rami can add it to the files.

I have NOT installed this campaign but why not substitute another carrier (Lexington, Yorktown, Hornet, Wasp) and replace the name in the mission files? Not historically correct perhaps but the campaign might run.
 
Hi Glh,
The problem is something in the missions themselves, not the ships.

You should try them. They are a great set of missions.

Much obliged, as I am sure others will be pleased. Maybe you can PM the other fellow (I am a day later and a dollar short of his name in this thread), to solve his mission making problem. Thanks again. We'd be lost without you and others who keep this sim going.

That fixed it for me. Thanks B24G. I did have to make a slight AC name change. The original mission and campaign download called for the G3M2 Nell. The fix now calls instead for IJN_G3M_NELL. A very minor problem and easily remedied.
