When FS2000 came out with the Concord,I thought then WOW!..This complicated exciting model...Since then, its been around in various forms..Other than its historical importance? Not for The average Cessna ,ultra light Driver..BUT it does impart a special feeling. At JFK seeing them T.O, or LANDING ..made my eyes misty....Tho this Pterodactyl is now extinct,it still evokes interest!

An updated model is available..Great job by Ricardo..its called FSX PM2 CONCORD REDUX PACKAGE..at Simviation..Looks great in ones hanger!...Vin

Looks good, but then, Concorde always does!

There's also the Flight Sim Labs payware one, if you want full systems modelling and a virtual flight engineer to take care of that pesky CoG balancing!

One of the worst problems was that the French/British almost couldn't agree if it's Concord or Concorde......

We were having a discussion like this at NZFF , course this being my the PSS 2004 model , we have been waiting for a reply with ConcordeX to give us a comparison , to me they looked very similar . :icon_lol: Crikey FS2000 - that was so last last century

Such an elegant bird... sigh. I remember once, just once, seeing on fly in person. They were doing some sort of promotional tour, and a BA Concorde came to Memphis. Still remember those engines glowing as it sped away. That might have been one of my formative moments as a young plane lover.

I still remember our front door shaking with the boom as she flew test flights down the UK west coast. Later (much later) seeing her practise touch and goes while I worked on a nearby rooftop. A customer has an air to air photo of her, plus a letter from the pilot of the EE Lightning which had just managed to intercept her at Mach 1.7.....

A fabulous engineering feat and a beautiful aircraft.

I had the good fortune to travel on "the rocket" on business a fair number of times. It felt like you were in something like a Mirage IV on takeoff with the noise, Dassault lines of the wing and punch of the AB (the pilot would disengage for noise abatement at about 1,000 ft after takeoff at JFK and then reapply it again once feet wet) which really pushed you into the back of your seat. At FL60 you could make out the curvature of the earth and the window was quite hot to the touch. Gone are the days when you could leave Heathrow at 11am and arrive in NY at 10 - an hour before you left!

I have the FSL Concorde X, couldn't fly it at the time I got it. My old computer couldn't handle it at that time. I should resurrect the X to see how she flies now.

Looking at And reading all this Reminds me that the Concord was truly unique. It was One Great Plateau of the human development to elevate our selves from earth...It Did it,most gloriously..For a brief shinning moment in Aviation it Reigned Supreme...However and sadly Like The Pterodactyl ; of old ,it became extinct!..We may in our life time not see the likes of it again!....Except on a Flight sim but Of Course!

:salute: Thanks Tufun , Arr "Here she be" alright .. We had the aircraft come into Christchurch on there regular world tours , one happened to fly in over home here on one occasion that set the street alight ... lotta people simple don't look upstairs - no noise cruzing through at around 1500ft heading across to intercept 02 crossing 29/11 .. been a while since a brought FSX aircraft ... best i check the price , it was a huge cost on its release .. course had the FS9 .. Is it worth it ? .

Brilliant Screens :wiggle: one thing with the FS9er was the horrid ghost like aircrew sitting in emptiness .

Allan would be pleased tho .. altho in OZ he'd probable i'd end up loving me teaching me ole Bro :sleep:<input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><input jscode="leoInternalChangeDone()" onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();}else{setTimeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden"><input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><input onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();}else{setTimeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden"><input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><input onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();}else{setTimeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden"><input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><input onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();}else{setTimeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">

With my current computer, it still struggles between 9~15 fps. It's still expensive... $69. The video below will give you an idea if its worth it. Also check his computer specs.

Check out this video of the Concorde X produced on March 2013... click on show more, it breaks down the video in categories.

Once in a while I will stumble across a YT video of the Concorde in action and get that impulse to reload this addon. Then I am reminded what a major pita it was. Is been a while but I recall autopilot frustrations,cg issues and constant struggles to get it to fly high and fast. I enjoy a challenge but it quickly turned into frustration even with the automated crew. My system performance was terrible even with all ai off and graphics lowered.
This is a good example of when some competition would be great.I would like to see a Milviz/Aerosoft type Concorde done where its a great looking addon with mid level systems and good fps.
But if you are really, really into the Concorde, a systems junkie and willing to tailor FSX to allow for reasonable performance then this might be for you.Oh and have 70 bucks to spare.

Thanks JIMJAM  Follow most people findings they all seem to have the issue off getting it to fly high and stay at alt , the FS9 model is very similar and found a very gentle climb and constant monitoring , i put this on the back burner for maybe when there is a sale or the need to zip across the Tasman :icon_lol:<input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><input jscode="leoInternalChangeDone()" onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();}else{setTimeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">

After watching that video, interesting to see it fly at mach 2 at 50,000' and setting her up to fly.

For what it's worth I've never had a problem with the FSL Concorde, just follow the tutorial step by step! (I use the tutorial as a form of checklist when doing routes other than London - New York and back lol..

She's a complicated lady and needs to be flown according to the manuals!
