The Defiant is up at Reg's Hanger

I've tested the bird tonight... after two hours of efforts, the AI rear gunner still don't want to move and use this bloody turret!! He simply don't fire at all and is waiting for I don't know what (if it's sun over British contryside, it may take some time :d ).

Where I'm wrong? I've been close enough, I've tested in intercept or sweep modes and there is nothing to do.

Well, the first thing I've shot down with the Defiant was my own wing man!!! LOL...He'll never disobey me again! LOL.

Jokes on the side, it is a very welcomed addition. My cumpliments to all involved.:salute::salute:

Loic, from my experience, he'll only engage between about 175 to 300 metres. Don't know why, but if you fly into the middle of a formation - try Dakotas, as they don't shoot back! - he'll get overwhelmed. Like a lion with a herd of wildebeest! No idea which one to attack, so he does nothing. If you stay outside the formation, once he starts shooting - rarely where you want him to - he'll get on with it.

Hi again,

I just wanted to add my praise for this outstanding piece of work. I had not checked in at this forum for several weeks, with the logic that a watched pot never boils, and when I did finally check in.... wow! I'm simply amazed. You've got it exactly right. I've spent several days now trying to master the, shall we say, 'eccentric aerial gunnery skills' required to make this plane work in combat. It certainly made me feel for those who 70 years ago had to do it for real.

I can only stand in admiration and gratitude for the work that has been put into bringing this amazing bird to cfs3.

Thanks again,

Mike

And there's more.
This weekend will see a new Defiant Mk1 added to the stable with a set of unsual missions. Not your usual attack a bomber stream. :) These will have a another dimension to them. Something you will find out if you fail one of them.
Also we will be putting up the upgardes to the existing Defiants and Nigels alternate FM setup.

Wow, awesome. Last time i was here it was still under development and now it graces our virtual skies at long last. A very needed aircraft for the sim indeed.

Long time no see

Wow, what a great piece of work guys! I've been away far too long but CFS3 pulled me back. Strike Fighters 2 was nice but there is no contest with CFS3 terrain and mods! I also have anew external hard drive so space is no longer an issue. Looking forward to the Defiant!
