• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

Good, now I know it's not only me, LOL. Avsim must not be accepting my uploads for some reason, never had problems before.
 
I've added the chrome texture there to the Real Air SF260 silver livery and it really makes the bump mapping pop out on the wings, it looks very cool.

Wow Bob, I gotta tell'ya, I'm not typically a fan of most of these bare metal textures as they are done so poorly many times, but this addition to the....well....non-paint scheme....is really well done. I will definitely take this puppy for a ride....or two...or three.

I only put this in this particular texture folder, but I may have to try it in some of my DC-3/2 textures. In addition to the RA Spit.

....oh, and after a few flights in the Duke...man, this is one really nice aircraft, and a real joy to land...by hand....One of my favorites in my hanger, and probably will be for a long time.

Yep, I've tried many different ways but this one was my all around fav and especailly liked it on the bare metal spitfire from RealAir also in FSX and the glass textures of like the default Bell 206, the clouds in the sky often match the way I set up the clouds in the textures also, making the reflections just a little more realistic.
 
3d Landing lights

I have only worked on the landing and taxi lights - this is the best I have got at the moment.


Put this in the panel config in the [VCockpit01]
gauge13=shockwave_lights!SW Lights_gear, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave light

Put these in your Aircraft config - add after/below the existing in the [LIGHTS]
light.10 = 5, 2.50, -0.5, -2.0, Fx_shockwave_landing_light // Shockwave light
light.11 = 5, -6.4, 4.8, -1.5, Fx_shockwave_landing_light // Shockwave light
light.12 = 5, -6.4, -4.8, -1.5, Fx_shockwave_landing_light // Shockwave light

This is Ok but someone might be able to work out why in some angles you dont see all the lights - I tried other lights as options but they did not appear at all.

To make the front light go off when the gear is retracted i had to call it a Landing - not a taxi light.

Yeah bro, avsim has been really messed up the last few days, make sure you post some of those great shots when you try that. :ernae:
