A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Skins - British

Description: Battle of Britain FAA Pilots skinpack by UncleTgt

This is a collection of repaints for the AH BOB Hurricane Mk1 & AH BOB Spitfire Mk1A for CFS 2. They are all based on Morton's excellent campaign specific repaints, all I've done is to overpaint with the appropriate aircraft markings.

To help alleviate a critical shortage of pilots in the RAF, in July the Fleet Air Arm asked for volunteers to be seconded to RAF Fighter Command. Some 58 pilots served with Fighter Command - 12 made claims & 4 became Aces during the Battle of Britain whilst flying with the RAF. However 7 RN pilots were killed & 2 were wounded - a high price.

The textures are: AH BOB Hurricane

LE - K P2831 Sub Lt Dickie Cork, 242 Sqn RAF, circa AUG/SEP40.

LE - V P2884 Sub Lt Jimme Gardner, 242 Sqn RAF, circa SEP40.

AK - Q P3385 Sub Lt Denis Jeram, 213 Sqn RAF, circa JUL40.

AH BOB Spitfire

QV - Y R6991 Sub Lt Arthur Blake, 19 Sqn RAF, circa SEP40

SH - N L1035 Sub Lt Francis Dawson-Paul, 64 Sqn RAF, circa JUL40

To install, unzip the download to a temporary location & move/ copy files to the matching folder names inside your chosen CFS2 install.

Thanks to: Aeroplane Heaven for the multi-LOD originals.

Morton for his collection of campaign specific repaints.

Kelticheart for his propeller transparancies.

This is freeware and subject to the usual conditions.

John,

I always love these nuggets of detail you unearth, outstanding job on both the historical background and the repaints! Thank you! :encouragement:

Lovely work Uncle. An interesting reference is "Blackburn Skua and Roc" by Matthew Willis. I will try to find my copy, which I haven't seen since my wife's last big "clean up". It should still be available at ABEbooks.
