Uploading as we speak. This will be the base model for all 'my' other rag-wing Hurricanes.

Hurricane Mk.I L1555, Sqn Ldr John Gillan, No.111 Sqn Royal Air Force, RAF Notholt, 10th February 1938

It was with this aircraft that Sqn Ldr Gillan made his record-breaking flight from Edinburgh Turnhouse to Northolt, at an average speed of 408.75 mph.

Okay... 408mph?? How wuz that possible? Did they remove armor, guns and anything else?
Did they coat the entire aircraft with bacon grease? ... misprint KPH???

400 miles in 48 minutes, but he had a tail-wind.

He did indeed get the nickname "Tailwind" for obvious reasons - there is no conceivable way he could have done it otherwise!

And yes, it does have "aluminium" undersides - actually painted, needless to say, as the RAF doesn't like leaving aircraft natural metal. Only one single aircraft to my knowledge has systematically been left unpainted, and that's the EE Lightning during the early part of its career. Spitfires also had painted aluminium undersides at the time. This lasted throughout the black-and-white period, where many aircraft kept the lower cowling, fuselage and lower tailplanes aluminium, and had only the lower mainplanes in black-and-white. That came to an end officially on 6th June 1940 when the Air Ministry decreed in Signal X915 that all day fighters should have 'Sky' undersides. As there was not anything like enough Sky paint available - Bomber Command wanted it too - a multitude of other similar colours were used up until September or October 1940 when sufficient supplies became available.

One thing I noticed when I tried to install it in BoB (or generic CFS3 for that matter), was that the Weapons folder was not included. I had to borrow ETO_in_round_303cal and ETO_ap_round_303cal from one of my other installs to get the guns working.
 
The black white and aluminium paint is really such a cool detail (and easily missed) :encouragement:
