To all,

I have uploaded and released a short, seven-mission mini-campaign based on a set of CFS1 missions created by Bill Potvin. This chronicles a one-week period during the beginning of the "Battle of the Bulge," and features fighter sweeps, bomber escort, ground attack, and photo recon escort missions.

There are three other projects that will be released in short order once Achim's German bases are uploaded, which will follow in the coming days.

These are...

56th Fighter Group mini-campaign
Battle for Europe (Dual sided - 54 missions in two 27-mission campaigns)
Messerschmitt Me-262 campaign

I hope you enjoy....only one short six-mission pack remains: "A Bridge at Remagen."

Then, all late-era ETO projects have been cleared, for now, and I can move back to 1940.

Enjoy! :wavey:

Hi Rami,

Do you actually convert the CFS 1 missions to CFS 2 using Mission Builder? I have found only a very small percentage can be converted - MB has trouble if the format is not to its liking.

Prior to opening the file in MB I have changed the name of the aircraft if need be and also the airbase id number and co-ordinates to CFS 2 standards, and still MB cannot open it. Usually the only thing that can be salvaged from the original CFS 1 mission are the waypoint co-ordinates. In the end I have to start from scratch, just using the general theme of the original mission.

I think you mentioned a few weeks ago about converting the Mediterranean Beaufighter campaign to CFS 2. Any further development on that? I think that would be a good one, especially with the new bases in Corsica and the LOD 8 mesh.

Keep up the good work,

Kevin

Kevin,

I have the Med Beaufighter campaign on the project table, but I have the Battle of Britain I want to clear first. I will have the Mediterranean Beaufighter campaign released before summer's end.

With regards to converting CFS1 missions, I have found a fair amount of success. I have discovered that ensuring the airbase.dat entries from each mission are in the airbase.dat file (in the info folder) before opening each mission in Mission Builder prevents corruption. It works about 80% of the time. I have been able to use this technique to create Barbarossa, Deep War, Battle of the Bulge, and 56th Fighter Group. The problem is that you have to build each .dyn file from scratch, which gets a little tedious after a while.

I also tend to go theatre by theatre. After Remagen, all Late-war ETO projects have been completed, for now anyway. I would like to get BoB finished by July 10th, (the start of official hostilities) but unless I want to hire a divorce lawyer, I don't think that will be possible. Late July seems more realistic.

Great additions Rami! Will be flown! But not this week. It's +32 C in the shadows here. Inside my house, dont ask.. :icon_lol:

Morton,

In Norway, get out and enjoy it. Save these for those LONG winter nights. :mixedsmi:

By the way,

Since Achim uploaded his German bases tonight, I uploaded the 56th Fighter Group mini-campaign as well. Both will be in the download queue tomorrow. Enjoy!

Just for fun, I also uploaded a couple of missions for the 357th Fighter Group that came with the "Old Crow" rendition of Andrew Wai's Mustang, found at Simviation. Enjoy those Mustangs over Berlin and Leipzig!

Well, down here it is cool and the nights close in earlier than I like. It is ideal weather to enjoy your fine creations Rami! Many thanks for all your work.
