The FS KBT EP-3E ARIES in FSX?

Navy Chief

Senior Member
I have FS KBT's wonderful P-3C Orion installed in my FSX. Flies and looks great.

I had planned to, but never got around to installing their EP-3E Aries (VQ-1) release; until last night.

I am running Vista 64 bit. The installer for that package will not let me install the aircraft. Is there some way to get around this? To my knowledge, they have not released a FSX.mod for the EP-3 aircraft; although they did for the P-3C.

Thanks.

Ok, got the aircraft installed, but having the usual problems with the gauges not being supported. I have been flightsimming for years, but still have problems understanding how to "alias" folders. Can someone point me to instructions (easy for a old retired Chief to understand) on how to alias to another aircraft? In this case, I'd like to alias to the FS KBT P-3C.

Thanks.

I'm away from home so I can't give you a sample
of one of my aliased panel or sound cfg files but
basically you replace the existing panel.cfg or sound.cfg
file witrh a new one that contains the entry:

alias=full path to the alias file\panel.cfg ( or sound.cfg )

it might look like this:

alias=KBT P-3C\panel.cfg

assuming both aircraft are in the same sub-directory,
say "Airplanes" under SimObjects.

Otherwise just use the full path to the alias folder

alias=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\.....etc

You have to be careful with aircradft with VC's as the MDL
file
may not be compatible.

In that case you may need to substitute gauges pon a per
gauge basis in the panel.cfg file itself.
