The Grumman J2F Duck first flight

i am noting saying anything sept it looks like the same model thats all looks nice been waiting for s duck for a long time

k no probs sorry for misunderstanding cirrus

well I'm sure there was no intent to imply anything either from what I've read in this thread -

Thats looking like a nice Duck icarus....I love the yellow top wing themes of the prewar navy bipes -

But I must ask you icarus ol' pal - where is the P-26 ? ?

I hope still in the pipeline...yes?

where is the P-26

boeing p-26 need much work before release...next ones are dragon rapide and grumman duck or dh-4.. i have seven aircraft to finish...and the 40 days of inactivity(health problems as someone well know here) didn't help..i just restarted few days ago..hope all seven new models will be out this summer. thanks for asking heywooood

i will try to hurry but sound engine part take much time to find resources and prepare it.

thanks for the reply icarus - yes I remember reading that you were recovering from a very serious hospital stay...

Glad to know that you are well enough to get back to work on the FSX projects you were posting about before.

the P-26 can come along whenever - I know it will be a solid model with great support when its ready.

yes as we maked with pitts and gladiator constantly updated and downloadable in three updated versions...same will happen for future models if something goes wrong.

i have restarted Grumman Jf2 project, so it will be our next release this month

Really a nice looking plane! :applause:

But I think that the rivets are way too big. They should be much smaller... just compare it with this picture :)

Greetings
Tim

that was only a preview nothing to do with final....texture is what i am going to work on this week....the preview generally its the model without textures or with based textures...there isn't a real texture exteriorly.

Hey Icarus,

So did you get the Murphy's War DVD like Wozza suggested ?.... If not here are your sounds :

http://dailymotion.virgilio.it/video/x7ksme_murphys-war-1971_shortfilms

( take notice of the water spray, maybe you can add something like that to your Duck package ( just kidding :d ,good water spray for float planes is terribly lacking in FSX isn't it...)

Obviously the sound quality is better straight from the DVD. In Italy you can get it here :

http://cgi.ebay.it/Luomo-che-venne-...DVD_Cinema_Internazionale?hash=item4ce6a923d7

( remarkably Murphy never holds any gun what so ever in the movie.. ;))

Or at amazon.com UK. Highly recommendable, one of the most exiting movies with aviation as subject ( and trying to sink a submarine with a crane barge... )

Might be that it won't hurt to add the Mount Kyle livery from the Murphy's War movie to your Duck package. Maybe even include Murphy himself.... ( and the 'Molotov Cocktails' underneath the wings.... ) you'd only need to dress up your pilot figure with the light overalls and special hat Murphy is wearing during his bomb run.

We could then fly up and down the Orinoco to find that sub hidden underneath the lush vegetation. ( add a small scenery with the hidden sub and a special Murphy mission. If we find and hit the sub with the molotov cocktails we'll get the Murphy reward. Ok, i'm getting a bit carried away here. Spiacenti :d)

Imagine your Ducks' release advert : " Murphy's War comes to FSX ! " :)

Ciao!
Jan

about the sound i will try the best about new feature is a little more difficult due grumman model is definitive and actually we are working on storch..it's possible as with other past models we will make an updated version with a special pilot as you suggested.

Oh yes, I'm waiting for this one, and I did by the DVD!
Those rivets still look huge to me though....
Another question, on the Gladiator, you had the shine baked into the model, which meant that it was easy to repaint (no alpha channel necessary), but it also meant all paintjobs were shiny too, even the camouflage....
Would it be possible to leave the shine out of the model, so we can have non-reflective paintjobs? Or am I asking too much?

Thanks for the link Javis! I really need to add that movie to my collection. It's always been one of my favorites.

reflection on those texture are completely different from the gladiator...it doesnt only landscape reflection how you can see from the images...it's possible i will rework also the gladiator and pitts s2b texture on future with this method i have created yesterday.

unfortunately this model will not have a psd file for paintjob, i will take this note for other future model. (actually how was builded the texturing part is also very complicated for me for this model) it is really complex texturing it and i m only to the external part..i will also take care of vc texture soon.

post scriptum...i have just asked to the modeller to add a version with murphy pilot.
