The Last Auster

Huub,
I wonder if Moly and DG would mind us hosting their stuff here at the SOH?

Well done Z on downloading the ac on the old CBFS site! :applause:

It's just you will get a lot of personal requests to email people files, which although it may not be a problem to you, it's a little unfair to expect it from you.

Cheers

I've been saving all my downloads since the very early days, & have stuff from sites that have long disappeared. I also have duplicates as well, as sometimes it's quicker to download something that catches my eye than to try find where & on which portable drive I've saved things to.. It's almost like finding an old friend again.

I've done the same for some 15+ years, after a few years I made up an index which saved me so much time I've continued.
:encouragement:

Shessi, If I have what the guys (& gals, if any) are looking for, & if they have disappeared off the internet, it's a pleasure to share FS2004 stuff. It's all part of the maybe forgotten developer's legacy to pass on. The more we remember FS2004 stuff, the better & longer it lives on.

Dave Molyneaux (Molyned) is a member here, and since Classic British Files disappeared he normally uploads his files to Flightsim.com. Dave Garwood's models are available at Classic British British Flight Sim, which is still up.

You can always ask, as both are active members here, but I assume when they wanted to have their file in the library here they would have done that already in the past.

Cheers,
Huub

As if by magic - here I am. :pop4:
I would have no objections to my Auster aircraft being hosted in the library. A good idea because I don't know where all the originals are now.

I just might be able to help. I'll have a look in my library, give me a day or 2?
BTW, was it the A06?
Hi Robin
The corrupted zip file is ca65f25dAuster_Terrier2.zip

According to Daves Readme files (from other Austers) the actual aircraft is the
Auster 6B / Beagle Terrier - civil conversion of the Auster 6

Thanks
Gavin

Phew, Found it. :applause:

I have the original zip, as well as a single zip containing the following that I had put together ...
attachment.php

I'm sure I have not missed any. Naturally, I found it on my 6th & last portable library drive..:banghead:
Please dont ask me to find the single zip files, please..:redfire:

So, with Dave's permission, I can either send the complete collection (273MB) to the library, or to anyone, or just the Terrier, or I can decompile the complete zip collection into single Aircraft zips
& I have no idea as to why there are 2x listings!

It's great that DM's lovely Austers are having a bit of present day love, because with sadness,I'd like to take this
opportunity to mention that it's 9 years,yes,9 years to the day that Ry Draiggoch AKA Leif Harding
passed away suddenly at his home in NorCal.

Leif was pretty instrumental as I remember at the time in persuading Dave to do those wonderful Auster variants.

Where ever you are and whatever you're drinking, raise one to old Leif tonight.

Robin

My personal preference would be an individual upload form each model. But I can imagine that this will be time consuming.
As we have a fresh librarian I will ask his opinion. Perhaps he can add the individual files in a less time consuming way.

Thanks for your effort and Dave M. thanks for the permission. I'm happy to see all models will become available again.

Cheers,
Huub

I'm in contact with Peter Watkins, what say I ask if he'd like to host his re-paints here too along with the Austers?
Pretty sure they're scattered all over the net on various flightsim sites.

Just had a look in my downloads file & found:
Aiglet trainer
AOP-6
Mk5 snds
A2-45
Agricola -FS9
Alpha -final release
Ambulance
AOP-11
Arrow
Husky & repaint file
Glider
J1 Autocrat
XP-glass

Now have not opened any of them to check if they are all Dave Molys & they might not be the final release cos I adjusted a few FDE's, but if anyone is interested I can send them out ( send a PM with your e-mail address) if Dave (& he seems quite happy from his last post) is in agreement.

I've probably got most if not all of them myself, but if you could upload the combined zip I'll split them down and upload individually. I'm afraid I have no time at the moment to go digging the files out and may not get around to sorting these files out straight away as we have just lost a family pet. My eldest daughter's lovebird 'Blue'.

Will get round to it when I get the chance,

Jamie

Had a quick peek, have maybe half those files in the obvious place, the rest will be hidden somewhere else. I have the Fairey Fulmar, is that already in our library? best check with a librarian, :biggrin-new:.

Hi Jamie,
I have them individually zipped, it went quicker than expected.
How do I send them, upload them?

If you upload them, I'll authorise them as uploads by Dave, if I can work that out. I'll add a note in the description that you uploaded them for preservation.

Ok, I'm uploading as we speak..
It will be a zipped file, containing all the individual zips, including an Auster effects zip.
I hope you dont mind me doing it this way, as uploading 25 files could take a bit of time.

It's all good, there's no point us both doing it 25 individual times, lol. Maybe we could persuade Dave to let us add all his great models to the library, Pup, Basset, Gladiator,.....you get the idea.

Jamie
