The Marvellous Iris Dement

She is under most people's radar for sure. I had a female friend a few years back who did a very good version of 'Our Town' when we'd get together at another buddy's house for jam sessions.
 
I hadn't heard of Iris DeMent up until two years ago. At first I wasn't sure if I liked her singing,.... with that unique pitch and quaver to her voice. Give her a bit of time, and you might be downloading a lot of her songs onto your Ipod like I have.
