I've been having a lot of fun flying a campaign around the MTO and one of the stops was at Malta. In the missions you fly a Beaufighter and it got me to thinking about Mosquito Operations in the MTO. I like the Beau but love the Mossie. I ended up finding quite a bit more than I thought I would. Did you know that the SAAF flew PR Mossies in North Africa? Or that No.# 23 Sqn flew NF II Intruder's out of Malta to Tunisia and all around the MTO for a year starting in Dec. of '42, then moved to Sardinia until May of 44? No.# 256 Sqn also flew Mossies out of Malta..... Who knew?
I had no idea..... And my old buddy even did several skins to fit. Philippe's NF II has a couple of "YP" skins and "YP" belongs to No.# 23 Sqn.....
Has anyone ever done any missions concerning Mossies in the MTO? Seems like ripe ground for something new and different.... Just thinking out loud.
