The Night Just got a Little more Damgerous

O1 i'm still testing it and have made it into an ac light, speed triggered.removeing the muzzel blast did eliminate the spacecraft green haze :costumes: but the host plane remained lit up.i moved the emmiter location to 175 feet in front of the plane and its no longer lit.so we my have the option of not giveing up a gun.

SS,

The muzzleflash was removed by replacing the default MF with the non muzzle flash effect in the aircraft XDP. The yellow green aura was caused by the "spotlight" effect which uses the jetexhaust effect. The light effect is built in to the bullet and is not attached to the plane in any fashion. The light only lights up what the bullet strikes. If you move the emitter 175 ft forward then the light will illuminate 175 ft from where the bullet strikes. Ted and I played around with the track effect speed governed searchlight effect for several months and shelved it for an effect we could activate with a gun trigger. That way it would only come on when we wanted to illuminate a target.

You can make a new fx_muzzle flash that will look like an honest to goodness searchlight orb and replace the current no_flash and have a really nice looking gun activated light effect.

Remember you can also make one or two guns on the aircraft light guns, just like gun cameras, and the rest of the guns normal. That way when you press the trigger you wil get light and bullets on the target.

Possibilities are unlimited, all it needs is developing.

Thanks for working on it and we look forward to to new developments.

Steve from what your saying, it sounds like you can have more than 1 muzzle flash operating at a time by using the no muzzle flash designation as an effect itself. I tried to attach 2 separate muzzle effects on the same aircraft to have 1 for guns and 1 for cannons. I could not get both to work at the same time. Is it even possible?

Hey Lewis
Yes you can, just go in to the aircraft XDP and make the change. When you see the B-25 I did it will make sense.:d

Only use the no_muzzle_flash effect if you want to kill the Muzzle flash. Add the appropriate MB for the type gun you want or make one.

what if you make a invisible gunposition with the light thing as a weapon. so it will point at nearby enemy planes and light it for you?
