• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Next clue would have been the colours on the rudder.

Over to "Down by the Sèvre", please :icon29:

I wish Mike. We are still hitting the 32-34C range daily. Need a nice strong cold front to get us down to 15C!

No takers? This is the Angus Aquila of 1931. Sadly, the designer lost his life testing it in March of that year.

Sadly, Kevin, it seems not!

Yes, it is the ill fated and inappropriately named Angus Aquila. The only thing aquiline about it was its nose profile, which suggests some semblance of a eagle's beak. Certainly there was nothing aquiline in its flight performance.

I thought my clue might provoke a reflex response from lefty, as he sat on the balcony of his hotel, looking out to sea and, after a good well watered lunch, dreaming of an Aquila Airways Short Solent gently cleaving the waters of Funchal Bay as it touched down .....

Over to a hopefully tepid Texas!
