The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Maybe you are thinking too complicated :very_drunk:

Think of this aircraft with the taildragger gear replaced by a tricycle gear and it should look familiar.

First flight of the basic type more than 60 years ago, built and sold by 3 different manufacturers, most of them had a Lycoming O-320 with 150 horses.

The conventional gear threw me off, but now that I have given my head a shake...
Shinn Morrisey / Varga / 2150 / Kachina

I had a Shinn in my steamer trunk but never made the connection.:dizzy:

It annoys me because I've long liked the Shinn, had a close look at one of the early demonstrators, and had it on my "If I win a lottery" list...
OK, I can't find this in the thread so it might be "new"

Most sources tend to be 'cut and paste' from the other sources, but I'm tending to agree..

Still, you get the prize and the obligation for the next one :applause:

Thank you, Uli. Here's something with a catchy name that, surprisingly, hasn't appeared here before (or, at least, it produces a negative search result).

Nobody ? It's like something out of a Poirot episode - the Reid and Sigrist Snargasher. Fondly remember it's sister the Desford at Strathallan in my parachuting days...

Snargasher.

Best name ever for an aircraft.:biggrin-new:

Edit: Very cool Pete that you have seen a Sea Rover in person. Nice bit of history there.

I always thought that the snargasher might have been related to the snark - possibly a less fierce half brother to the bandersnatch. But Mike has it, Reid & Sigrist's first born, the Snargasher. A l'Ecosse!

Thank you Mike. Nothing on the stocks at the moment - here's a machine in quiet repose..
