The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Fairchild 22 is all for which I was looking - because I don't yet any more about it! Had I more time on Saturday, I would have asked its owner/restorer. But for the present, the baton goes back across the pond!

Yes Keith, but whichever, I'll blame it on the heat.

Eagerly awaiting more updates from PH.

It's "Texas-hot" in western Canada these days 30+C with increases daily until the end of the week. Some places are on pace for successive days of all-time records ( or nearly so). Temps we only rarely see and not normally until August. Of course nighttime "lows" are hovering around 20C, but who needs sleep?

That said, my computer time is heat-limited so I'll make it OH.

That's why I don't like OH. :very_drunk:

Here is a nice low-winger that hopefully doesn't bother you for too long. :bee:

Perhaps I should add that my cat is of the opinion that it is a mouse, more specifically of the Comper variety, and that I am not inclined to disagree with him. He is far more au fait with mice than I am!

Mike, I guess this rather convoluted answer is a try to give the solution of the mystery as Comper Mouse. :biggrin-new:

If I'm not totally wrong with my assumption the answer is correct and the baton goes to :france:

Santé :icon29:

I'll ask my cat to post the next challenge - but it may not be until the morning because he wants to watch Belgium beat Italy in the football!

Another potential semi-finalist - The original Mraz M-2 SKaut ?

(I'm a Belgium fan too, Mike, but you can't deny the Italians were much better....)

Yes, that's the machine, Mike, although your prompt response has deprived me of the chance to say, by way of a clue, that this was a one-off whose design was revisited, modernised and flew again over sixty years later.

The cat chose, as a mystery, the M.2, rather than its successor, because he felt that the latter had unwanted canine associations. Who, if in the least bit serious, would name an aeroplane the Bonzo!

Anyhow, enough of this idle chatter. Let's see what Alba's finest has to offer in order to drive us to distraction! :distracted:

'Alba' ? Don't get me started, Mike. The Gaelic mafia, ably supported by the SNP, have foisted the language onto us so that our constabulary have become the POLEAS, and railway stations have made-up Gaelic names - this in areas where the language has never been spoken. Imagine if the same thing happened with Breton.....

I am struggling to find any mysteries that are new, but this chunky twin might not have appeared in this variant -
