The image with an armed guard made me think the picture was taken in Belgian Congo. As the Belgians flew almost every aircraft ever manufactured, this doesn't help a lot.

But is it perhaps a Douglas DC-6A Liftmaster?

One microlight manufacturer that has taken the British climate seriously is Aeolus Aviation of Reading, Berkshire. The company's first excursion into the field features an enclosed cockpit, conventional controls, and has a realistic cross-country performance.
First flown in October 1982, the Aeolus has now accumulated more than 30hr, during which the whole performance envelope has been fully explored. A single-seater, the aircraft is powered by the popular 333cc two-stroke Fuji Robin engine of 30 h.p.
