• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Generic ? Does that mean anonymous ? The tail is the only distinguishing feature - this is the 20's equivalent of a Cessna, but I can't pin it down. Moses ???

Suspect European ??

From a somewhat well known manufacturer. A few of their other types match this configuration. A little bit Southeast of Europe proper.

It's my birthday today - too busy preparing delicacies for my friends & neighbours this evening - the bubbly is chilling, the sun shines, the barbecue is all set - don't expect to get much sense out of Lefty for the next 24 !

Happy Birthday Oh Great One! A round of Parasols for EVERYONE!!!!! I meant a round of brewsky's....got carried away there.

Back in college they held a cardboard boat contest every year, and this latest submission looks just like one of them with a set of droopy wings glued on.

This one is painfully obscure. It even had small ailerons at the tip of each wing.

Not made from cardboard though...

The gentleman in rear looks a tad oriental, but there ain't a sampan in sight. (probably taken in San Francisco Bay........)

It would appear to defy most of the laws of aerodynamics. ?

You were on the right track. The sponsons were a clue to the country. Not a Dornier but a Nordflug Werk Type F.B.1 from 1923.

Onward with a grainy biplane...

Too hot for a beer ???? That's a new one on me ! I'm definitely of the Ice Cold in Alex persuasion.
(Old Brit war movie, for you chaps)

Have a good 4th - how do you celebrate in the heat, exactly ?

When you get back into the air-conditioned sanctum of your computer room, you can tell us what this one is. A proper biplane, and, oh boy, an ugly one.......View attachment 11923
