The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Well if our flying wing guru hasn't picked up on this, it must be truly obscure.

Looks French to me (Mauboussin-ey tail) but could be a Russki.

Or else you just nicked it off the 4th July carousel and 'aged' the photo.......

I'm going to throw out a wild guess here - could this be the Hanriot HD.28 which was modified in 1931 to test the V-tail configuration?? No pic, but that's about the only biplane which I could find reference to with a V-tail from that time era. If it is, then it's a pretty dramatic departure from a standard 28. Even looks like it has a retractable gear.

Got it eventually - the single-struts were the clue, with the swept-back upper wing. It is the SPAD S-710.

I like the 3-view ???????

I'm embarassed to say that SPAD was waaaaay off my radar. I never realized they built a V-Tail even though I had the same pic in my files. Good catch Mike.

That's the only decent photo I got ! (Apart from one with it fitted with 4 Sunbeams) :icon29:

WHO MESSED WITH THE SMILEYS ??? THE NEW ONES ARE PATHETIC !

Yep, a lot of the good smileys are gone for some reason.

Here is a interesting runabout. In color too!

Hi Kevin,
excellent choice. I saw this beauty in the flesh long, long ago..... Those were the days.
The LD-261 (LD-26) Midgy-Club by MDG (Materiel Denis-Gruson)

Oddly enough, I had the single-seater (LD45) lined up as a possible future mystery. It's even cuter, I think.
