• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

I will be naughty and suggest it is actually the PT-2 (four bay HS-2L wings - the PT-1 had three-bay HS-1L wings). But honours to the Texan sage, please.

Thanks Dave.

I wasn't sure which one Mike until I found this snippet on another forum:

"NAF PT
The PT.1 was a patrol flying boat using the fuselage of a Curtiss R.6 and the wing of a HS.1L. 15 aircraft were built for the US Navy with serials A6034/6048. The PT.2 version had a HS.2L wing with a span of 74'1", 22.58 m, fitted and 18 were built with serials A6326/6343."

The serial on Dave's plane looks to be 6046 so I figured it fell into the PT-1 range.

Pressing on...

Well I was convinced that this horror was American, but those guys look a bit mitteleuropean....... No ideas so far.
