When I first saw the pic I knew it was familiar - my attention was drawn to the wings (and the crosses:icon_lol:) but I didn't have the time to really dig.

Wish we had a "facepalm" smilie as I know know why it seemed so familiar - about 4 years ago I stood beside, walked around and photographed an AEG G.IV There are differences as it was one of the single-fin variants but that wing planform is the key

I'm no good at choppers.....however my PC is working again after a malignant virus crept into it and now I only have to get acquainted with the new system (Windows 7) just installed.

A Cessna it is. I understand this testbed in 1953 preceded the true CH-1 prototype. No idea whether it had an official designation.
