The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Here's an easy sporty-looking number -well it would be, but File Upload Manager seems to have gone doolally....

Weird, man. That image didn't show in File Upload Manager at all !

Anyway, fire away - I think the same coach painter who did the Meridionali must have had a roving commission !

Hi G
I don't know which Jane's you are consulting, but mine (1938) tells me it's the I.A.R. 24 (YR-ACI), being the modified 23 with different engine, cockpit, etc.

Anyway, close enough, so over to you, sir :very_drunk:

(my problem with the Upload Manager is that, when I press the 'upload' button, it just hangs - the wee circular arrow just keeps going round and round, and the image doesn't show -subsequently, when I close the box. it has magically appeared!)

Jane's 1938.

Far too generous there mate. Simply unforgivable of me - I looked at the top of the page and thought, yeah, that's it, but was too lazy to look at the bottom of the page!

For that, I'll make it open house and walk to the sin bin.

(I too still have the odd problem with uploading mate - especially when it comes to previewing, dunno what I'm doing wrong...)

Test Post

I usually imbed images. Let's see what happens here with a test attachment.

Edit: Worked just fine for me. Ickie did reboot early this morning. Maybe that set things right.

Note the fancy French Gentleman pilot in his 1910 design.:biggrin-new:

I have jumped for late incoming the last two (both of which I knew) but I'm not going to skip this: Harlow PC5A....
Cheers

Correct BG, I actually have it as the PC5, the PC5A was sold to the Indian Air force I think. Anyway a limoncello or two I think for you (if you like that sort of thing).

As for Moses sky hook, or what seems to have been dragged backwards through a hedge or fence...no idea.

I regret my inability of posting a mystery right now being away from my usual documentation. If you will be kind enough to wait till Tomorrow morning I will be glad to oblige.

Hi Green!
I have it captioned as Bowlus XCG7 therefore that must be it!
Compliments for the quick response your turn then....

Looks like an M.S.733 Alcyon. Canopy, kinked wing and cowling are the ID factors here. Looking at the flagwavers, would this be one of the Cambodian or Khmer purchases ?

Nicely done Lefty - pupils at the Royal Khmer Air Academy at Phnom Penh with a low flying M.S.733. All yours sir! :untroubled:
