• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

98F today and time to think of cool waters. Here is a really nice period Salon photo of a not-so-difficult floater to move us along.

:very_drunk: on the Bleriot smoothie.

If I had a time machine, I would go back to one of the 1930's Salons and spend the day milling about (with a smuggled in modern digital camera!).

Whilst browsing round the Salon, if the budget couldn't stretch to the beautiful Bréguet, maybe you could afford one of these fun buggies.......

Hi Mike:encouragement:
Assuming she was present at one of the first post-war Salons, I think this sesquiplane is the LD-45 developed for MDG and built by SECAT.
LD-45 for Louis Delasalle 1945 (designer), MDG for Société Matériel Denis-Gruson and SECAT for Société d'Études et de Construction d'Avions de Tourisme.

Well I have this as the MDG LD-45, Walter - but, of course, being French, there are multiple designations, all designed to confuse ! :very_drunk:

Thank you Mike:encouragement:
Does the original photo show any registration? I understand that 3 LD-45s were produced including F-WDCV and F-PHQN.

Nest challenge will follow asap

hi pomme-homme:encouragement:
You may be right. Will check and revert.

Meanwhile, new challenge, a slim streamlined and strutless biplane. Hope she was not on the forum before

I think she is D-2222, the model D.22 from the Akaflieger of Darmstadt University. Attractive machine which came to a sad end.

Is that a sawed-off airfoil at the top? The proximity is not helping so maybe the post war experts will step up soon.

Not quite sure where you're coming from there, Walter - I think we'll move on.

This is the El Tomcat Mk IIIa from Continental Copters of Fort Worth, Tx, around 1965. Several versions from 1959 onwards. According to Aerofiles there was a later version based on the JetRanger.

OH, please, gentlemen.

I'll bite....been lurking in the shadows for far too long. Here's a grainy one off built by an air force captain.....
