The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Sorry for the delay, chaps - battling with e-mail setup.....

Here's a machine of whose status I am uncertain - its radical designer got one even odder contraption off the gropund, but maybe not this one.

It's out of Wout's comfort zone, but I am certain one of you knows the full story, so please proceed !

This is Marcel Leyat's flying car design from 1928. The wings would detach from the center pod section. I don't think Marcel ever quite figured out if he was designing cars or planes!

Indeed - some of his cars must have been quite spectacular to drive with whacking great aero engines up front... Over to Texas :very_drunk:

How about this rather simple but pleasing sport plane?

That fits just fine.:icon29:

Over to the lowlands.

Thanks gX.

There is an interesting story behind this cabin cruiser other than the pivoting wing struts.

This one had a Hisso engine.

After many successful flights, the designer seems to have faded from aviation history. Maybe the stock market crash changed his path?

Thought about that one, but it doesn't look like a 2-seat cockpit up top ? ..and I'm keen to hear about those 'pivoting wing struts' !
