The cobbled runway could be a taxiway/parking area?
In the in the country of origin cobbled runways maybe pose no problems for some of the largest aircraft built there. (hint-hint) :mixed-smiley-010:
 
According to one source this wheel arrangement was done just as a gag to try something different, however proved to be successful in races.

Due to problems with the ground handling a "standard" gear was installed later on.

It was Ike, so it was Mike who gave the answer I like :bee:

In fact it is the Howard DGA-4 "Ike" with its experimental tandem wheels. Some sources state that it is a DGA-5, however according to aerofiles this seems to be incorrect since there were 2 DGA-4, "Mike" and "Ike".

I fear that we might be lapsing into poet's corner - or perhaps doggerel den might be more appropriate! Anyhow, I'm sticking to the same theme for the time being .....
